Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

IsraelNo air conditioning! True for many hotels/apartments here but since it’s on the 7th of 7 floors the apartment was very warm even when temperatures outside were 16-22! A ceiling fan will do the job I believe (unlike the 2 weak fans we had)
Very nice and quite large apartment for a couple (maybe one small kid may be added). Beautiful view, great location, big refrigerator and cooking facilities. Various public transportation . Central but quiet

SingaporeNo housekeeping service although stay was 16 nights. 3 dishwasher tablets provided on checked in. Property staff brought more the next day when asked. Only 3 toilet roll’s provided, bought more myself. Also had to buy laundry soap as none were provided. Non stick pot & pans need to be renewed as they were badly scratched & unusable.
Like the location. Quiet. Spacious apartment.

United KingdomUnfortunately, the Apartment was too hot the whole week even though it was September. This is due to the building having no air conditioning and being on the top floor with a flat roof. Although 2 fans were provided, they made very little difference to the temperature, so we had 7 uncomfortable nights rest in our bedroom even with our fan on all night. Even in the mornings and evenings it was uncomfortable so we had to sit with just underwear on. This was the only downside and in the winter this apartment should be ideal for London breaks.
Location and general facilities offered being close to shops, trains and buses.

SingaporeBe prepared for the bells of St Paul’s ringing (every half an hour) and a neighbour’s dog barking every morning.
Property was very well located, about 5 mins from both Farringdon station and St. Paul’s. The apartment is in on a quiet street, not too much street activity. The apartment is secure, with a concierge at the building. Neighbours are quiet. There is a supermarket round the corner where you can buy provisions.

United Kingdomsince our earlier visit about 12 months ago there has been a drop in standards. The lounge curtains still the same drab brown, hanging as if it was a poor students accommodation, glassware consisted of 4 x fluted champagne 1 x small wine glass and 2 large pint glasses not practical for normal use, two cups that were stained beyond cleaning. No bathroom tumblers, not even plastic ones. Decor overall very tired in desperate need of an overhaul. All the plates needed to be washed prior to use. For the fees charged I think they could make a better effort at the decor and amenities.
Location was excellent, access to the 7th floor by elevator. Secure access with front desk concierge, Transport links with bus stops within 5 minute walk, tube and Elizabeth line under ten minutes and local supermarket just around the corner.

United Kingdom- The flat (701) is a little dated and it was getting hot on average summer days (20-25 degrees) - can hear neighbours talking at night if the window is open - very small bed (double) and not comfy pillows. There is enough space to fit in queen or even king, it would make such a difference - late check in fee is very inconvenient. I would expect at least a little bit more “guest friendly” timings - £250 deposit is very high , but was returned in time once asked - I would prefer to be charged via booking system instead of arranging links/bank transfers
