Mattress was too firm for my typical liking and pillows too thin. But this is minor Overall very happy.

    Absolutely nothing. It was perfection.

Firstly, it was surprisingly easy to find using City Mapper - it is pretty much a straight line, 10 mins from Maidstone East station, with a pleasant walk through the high street - you will be able to get acclimated with the area on the walk there. My room was gorgeous - sizeable double bed, freestanding bath with grand period furniture. Facilities are beyond what you would expect from a property of this type. The rooms are soundproof and you are provided with all the amenities of a high-end hotel The place is spotless with similar attention to detail in the overall design - what they have accomplished with the renovations is nothing short of startling. Saban and Belinda are wonderful hosts and could not have been more welcoming or hospitable If you want to have a place just outside of the hustle and bustle of London (with the accompanying price tag) but less than an hour away with a quintessential British Market town as your backdrop, this really is the only choice I could recommend. The room I had, in London, would have been 10x the price for what I got here. Please don’t let the price fool you, this is an excellent property that would be great value at twice the price. Finally, I didn’t get to say goodbye to my lovely hosts, but I look forward to seeing them again and hope this honest review makes up for it.

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying in the Judge Huddlestone room for an overnight stay to celebrate her birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The property itself is stunning, with an elegant ambiance that carries throughout the entire hotel, a perfect blend of historic charm and luxury furniture, rich oak panelling adds a sense of grandeur and timelessness. This extremely large bedroom, measuring 42 square meters, features a hand-carved four-poster bed that is as lush and comfortable as it looks. The expensive, well-made silk bedding sheets and goose down duvets and pillows made for an incredibly restful sleep, our room furnished with luxury and antique pieces that contribute to its elegant atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace, which added warmth and a touch of romance to our evening. The roll-top bath in the beautifully medieval oak-panelled bathroom was another highlight, offering a perfect place to unwind.

Only the carpark in the Mall, but that's not their fault.

Beautiful building, refurbished to a high standard, grade two listed. sharban gave a tour and spoke about the work that was completed and the plan they have for the future. He recommended an Italian restaurant next door called Vesuvius which was also 10/10.

parking was a challenge as it would require walking with luggage a significant distance. We parked on the curb to unload which blocked traffic a bit but worked for us. Helpful to disclose that trick to customers.

Could have had the option for a later check out, even as an additional charge would have been happy to pay. Option for breakfast or recommendations of local places to grab something in the morning. But the above are minor as the stay was comfortable & value for money.

Easy check in with thorough instructions. The history of the property. Beautiful building/courtyard.

Missed the need to take shoes off in the building, bit odd. Location is a bit unprepossessing although central for Maidstone.

Very interesting property with a good history. Clear information without need to see hosts. Big room with elegant bathroom. Good facilities, clearly working on improving and extending their services.

Couldn't really leave the windows open due to noise and privacy as the room faced a major road with a few corner shops, pubs and takeout places

Was very pleasantly surprised. The room was very spacious, communication from the host was superb and the shower was amazing. Easy access to the town centre and lots of takeout options nearby with transport links all within 5mins walk. Second booking I have made with them and I wasn't disappointed.

The room was very pretty and the location was perfect. The house is charming and has been very well restored and decorated. The tea-making facilities in the room were good. There is no provision for food in this hotel and I did not meet the hosts or anyone else.
