Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location was walking distance from the centre, and really clean and comfortable. I liked that it had a bar downstairs.

United KingdomOne morning, we came down at the time we’d booked breakfast and were told they were only serving continental which, for the price we paid for breakfast, wasn’t really acceptable. There was no reason given. We were right on time. And the continental breakfast didn’t reflect the price we’d paid (i.e. nothing freshly baked, no pastries, no fruit, no meat, no cheese). I’m not saying they should have expanded their continental breakfast (as it’s just supposed to be an option), but very disappointed that we missed out on a hot breakfast with no reason or refund given. We were a bit too polite to say anything and they were friendly so I’m sure they would have done something. But we were on holiday so didn’t want to cause a fuss.
Really nice, clean budget property. Friendly staff. Easy check in. Tasty breakfast.

United StatesThe reception desk was unattended and the numbers did all go to voicemail when I arrived. Going in through the restaurant did enable me to get into the hotel and eventually find someone.
Clean room and good information pack and welcome refreshments. Excellent location for rail travellers.

United KingdomThe shower cubicle needed a good clean- the grout was rather black. Also my husband and I both received ‘insect bites’ overnight!!
We asked for a walk in shower and got one. Shower was lovely and powerful. Hotel location good on outskirts of the city, just a 15 minute walk in.

United KingdomOfcourse the rooms were very small and a little fridge wouldn't have gone amiss especially as it was very hot ( we took our own fan) .. but for 49£.. I think we got an excellent deal.
So the people were lovely. I was quite shocked how clean it was despite being a low star hotel. We had a beautiful meal at the restaurant..you must try the dosa...pure, authentic and. divine food in a comfy outside area. Also the shower was one of the best I have ever used.

PolandSome slight drawbacks: lack of fridge in the room; lack of bins for garbage separation (but they state that the waste is recycled so we hope that's the case); noisy guests in the room next door on the last night of our stay.
A great hotel with friendly and helpful staff (especially at the reception desk). Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. An okay location, very close to the railway station (a bit further away from the historical city centre but still within walking distance). A very good full English breakfast (and what a great idea to serve it with samosas). For dinner, we'd truly recommend the hotel restaurant that offers amazing food (bonus: great recommendations when we weren't sure what to order!). We also appreciate the environmental awareness of the hotel - they should definitely keep up with it. All in all, a very pleasant stay and we'd visit again.

United KingdomIf I have to nitpick, then I would say the pillow was so soft such that you don't feel like resting your head on top of a pillow after a while.
The hotel is located quite near to the station and is reachable to the city center by foot in a reasonable time. The double room was spacious. The bathroom is a bit small but is kept clean and nice. We had a chance to try out the restaurant only one evening and the food was really good with reasonable prices. There was a small problem with the wifi, however it was fixed once we pointed it out with the receptionist. We reached there after 11:30PM, however this was not a problem and we were able to check in quite easily. I would definitely stay here when I'm in Norwich next time.

United KingdomThe flush in No. 18 kept leaking water and the room door didn't lock. Reporting these to the staff multiple times was to no avail so we had to accept the water wastage and keep a chair under the door handle so it couldn't be opened from the outside. The room is quite small, especially if you're a tall or heavyset person. The second floor rooms are loft conversions, so beware of the lower ceiling. The wash basin is set low and because the bathroom is narrow, you don't have much room to bend and use the basin, except by keeping the bathroom door open. The bathroom has no windows, but the ventilator fan is strong enough to defog the mirror.
Nice and firm beds. Friendly staff. Good selection of breakfast menu. No 19 room was slightly larger than 18, as 19 is a corner room. 19 also has a towel radiator in the bathroom to hold your clothes (18 has just one hook).

United KingdomThere was a vent outside our window, which was to the rear or side of the building. It was quite warm outside when we stayed and the top window only opened about 4 inches and let in even warmer air from that vent. There was a nice quiet fan which we had to have running most of the night to be able to sleep.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was pleasant and lean and had a wardrobe, bedside cabinet, tea and coffee making facilities well stocked. Breakfast was good and filling. We had to have wheat free options which were available apart from bread as they could not get that locally at short notice. So you need to tell them in advance if you need that. Beds were firm and comfortable. Location was close enough to Norwich centre so we could walk (around 20 minutes) and there was a nice riverside walk just about 7 minutes down the road.
