In general, the stay at Strawberry Bank Hotel was great! The people was really nice, the breakfast was delicious and is located in a very calm area, which allow a great rest. At the same time, is well connected to town through public transportation and is not far at all. Really good!

There were no mattress or pillow protectors on either of the beds I was given. I would expect an undersheet as a basic minimum. I was given a room with twin beds when I complained. It wasn't the most comfortable bed to sleep in and I gave up trying at 0430. I had left the hotel by 0530 to go home. It didn't help that the room was really hot and didn't cool down even with an open window

The hotel is just 10 minutes away from the NEC so is perfectly placed for an overnight stay. It was next to the pub but not noisy. The rooms looked nice and fairly well decorated. A complaint on the night was dealt with.

Mouldy shower head, absolutely disgusting. Cleaner walking down the corridor 8am banging to every door as "she's checking which room checked out". But two people at the reception. Can they not communicate????? I was in the shower when she entered the room. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Also strongly don't recommend restaurant at the premises. Horrible, also unprofessional staff and service. Food expensive, came out completely burned. Server didn't know what gluten allergy is.

Manage to book a room for good value so didn't expect much and room definitely meet our lack of expectations...

I was in room 207, the room is basic but comfortable. I would have liked some bedside lights as it was the big light or no light, and a reading light would be ideal, and a black out blind. A hook on the door for my towel. I had to put the kettle on the floor to boil it so a little more thought on layout and it would be great. The bed had a dip in the middle but it was comfortable. Upgrade the TV to smart TV. From a team perspective, housekeeping knocked on my door 3 times at 8.50, 9.30 and 10.10am which if you offer an 11.00 am check out, they should be checking with reception if the guest has departed.

The property is ideally located with a newly refurbished pub and restaurant, the outside areas have also been refurbished and they are stunning. The team were so lovely and the food was great. The breakfast was one of the best I have had.

I didn't like the leaking roofs, and dripping water in multiple hallways, can't help but think about the potential mold in walls and carpets. I did NOT like the bed in my room, had to curl up my quilt and sleep on that, as well as the spare pillows, because the bed was rock solid and uncomfortable.

I liked the cosy atmosphere, as well as the restaurant atmosphere, I only had breakfast, I'm vegan, so a bit rough on the stomach with little plant based alternatives, but I acknowledge the fact that the hotel doesn't have many vegan guests. The vegetarian sausages were good, staff was really nice and quick to respond with any issue.

The hotel is in need of a refurb (think 90s Travelodge), but for £42 per night, it was good value.

The bar & restaurant are excellent. The accommodation - for the price we paid - was good. There is ample free parking. The restaurant staff were very good.

Not much to pick on really. There was what appeared to be an iron burn on the carpet and I found a metal pin on the carpet that could have caused some damage, the flow in the shower was poor which resulted in me having to hug the bar to which it was attached to get a decent rinse. The waymarking to the dining area from the residential zone is also poorly marked as I got lost along with several other patrons (a plaque or something on the door saying this is the dining area would help as the door looks like a secondary entrance to the kitchen or staff room)

The location was nice, pretty straightforward to get to the motorway. Close proximity to a train station should you choose say to go to the NEC or Birmingham TC. The food was nice, the wait staff was very attentive, special recognition to Lily as she was very attentive when I went to the dining area for my evening meal, making sure I wasn't kept waiting if I wanted another drink ect. The elder ladies that run the breakfast in the morning were also very polite and well-mannered, I felt welcomed, and breakfast was pretty good as well, presented in a buffet style. Overall a nice venue with decent food and a good location, prices are reasonable with a nice selection in drinks. The local co-op is 5 minute walk away with affordable prices should you want to buy some extra supplies. Views from my window were spectacular, too bad I was too tired to watch the sunrise.
