Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe roads nearby to get to the property are small and pot hole ridden. Nothing the property can do about that but just be aware of the roads and don’t race them! Drive carefully.
Rural and rough. Get away from the city, people and tech, then this is the place for you. I loved it. Got a bit cold at night so bring a blanket. Bed is raised (medium firmness but comfortable), so there is an area under the bed for your dog to sleep (bring their bed). The little wood burner gave out loads of heat, I say have it ready to be lit for first thing in the morning. The place is great for a younger couple with a small dog looking to get away from the world for a couple of days to enjoy each other company :)

United KingdomThe hut was in a beautiful remote location down narrow lanes. It was great to wake up and see the views in the morning after arriving in the dark. Inside the small space was arranged cleverly and there was a small wood burning stove which heated the room very effectively. The bed was comfortable and warm. We had all we needed for our two nights and enjoyed exploring the area with a coastal walk and a visit to Clovelly.

United KingdomWe thought the hut was more remote with no one else around, however there is a tent just next to it. But it didn't make any difference to our stay and we would come back :-)
It is an unusual accommodation where all small details were thought about. It had everything we needed, even a small wood burner that made the atmosphere even more cosy! Charlotte was very nice and checked we had everything we needed :-)

United KingdomDo not stay here if you need a VAT receipt for business expenses. The customer service from 'Travel Nest' the 'hosting company' who handle the money / invoicing was a total shambles. Never came back to me after lengthy phone calls and emails. A simple request wasted so much time and still have no VAT receipt........................................................................

United Kingdomnothing to say!
Having never been “glamping” before I wasn’t sure what to expect but having stayed at this stunning shepherd’s hut retreat I fear the bar has now been set very high! The communication from the host was excellent helping me to understand what was involved and answer any questions. When we arrived we were greeted on site and taken to the hut as it it was dark but the little fairy lights led the way too and started our magical adventure. Opening the door was better than I could of imagined, the interior was so cosy and welcoming and everything had been thought of, firewood for the wood burner and basic provisions such as oil, pepper, salt etc The bed was divinely comfortable and the indoor bathroom a welcome addition! The site itself is so beautiful and if you want to escape from it all look no further!

United KingdomCharlotte was exceptionally welcoming, lovely to chat to, and incredibly helpful with recommendations for walks and dinner etc. Both the Shepherds hut and Ivy Cottage, next door are gorgeous, beautifully decorated and so so cosy! The shepherds hut is perfectly situated to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Our doggy was super happy and safe roaming around, enjoying the fields Shops and adorable local pubs are a short drive away, but once we were settled we didn’t want to leave! We have decided to do dry2023 and this was the Perfect retreat with a “middle of nowhere” vibe to kick off the year. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will definitely be back soon!

United KingdomWonderful shepherds hut in a beautiful, peaceful, rural location! Very friendly, welcoming and professional hosts. The shepherds hut is fully kitted out with everything you could need with fabulous attention to detail and luxurious interior design. It was very comfortable and cosy, we especially enjoyed lighting the stove at night. The shepherds hut overlooks the rolling North Devon countryside and has spectacular views - such a treat to wake up to! A true glamping experience! Can't wait to stay again in the future, thank you so much!
