How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Absolutely nothing! Was gorgeous!
The property was immaculately clean, we loved the decor/style, great location, comfortable beds, amazing bath, everything you needed kitchen wise - well equipped! The cookies were a lovely touch and the owner was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. He recommended The Suffield Arms for dinner which did not disappoint! Highly recommend, we got the train from Sheringham to Gunton and back so we could enjoy cocktails. The perfect stay.

Kitchen equipment was sparse eg no mixing or serving bowls . Basic numbers of crockery. Televisions could not access freview live Tv. Radiators in bathrooms were not connected so difficult to dry towels. These issues let down the luxury style of the property

Only minor points to note; Oddly small "bath" towels as noted by other guests; No wine glasses; empty salt and pepper pots; one slightly dirty pan; no dishwasher; like many properties - council clearly offer recycling, but flat has only one bin and no recycling guidance.
"proper" espresso machine was a bonus (although missing a suitable milk jug) - rather too frequently we've had to go shopping for a cafetiere or something - or clean up after a coffee 'pod' disaster; Not this time: the provided machine made great coffee! Hand soap and washing up liquid provided. Parking on the road adjacent property was not difficult. washing machine provided (but no pods/powder)

The people who stayed in the apartment before us left a t-shirt in the washing machine, giving the machine a musty smell. We threw the t-shirt away, but it was not a pleasant experience.
The apartment is clean, stylish and new. The bathrooms are impressively modern, especially the bath. The TVs are ultra modern. The owner gave very detailed instructions about access and parking, and is always available to answer any questions.

Only comment would be to have another armchair perhaps? Currently only 1 x sofa to sit on which was fine for 2 of us, but could be a problem if 4 people staying.
excellent location and very quiet given how close it was to everything. Lovely big flat and plenty of room. Well appointed kitchen with everything required. immaculately clean including the communal areas. Easy access to all part of Sheringham and the whole town was lovely. Thank you for a great stay. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting that area.

The apartment is beautiful and feels more spacious than the pictures, great location for walking around the town and to the beach but still in a quiet family area, with clear and easy instructions from the host and clean. Two spacious rooms with comfortable beds and a lovely shower! Feels very safe and a well equipped kitchen!

The flat was a little cold and we couldn’t warm it up. A full length mirror near a plug would be great Bath towels would be fab as we could barely cover our bodies (and we’re not tall!) Minor things as the flat is fab.
