Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomFor the price it was ok but to describe as stylish was stretching it. The property was definitely not cleaned before the stay . There were four of us but only 3 chairs at the table. Pictures and mirror on floor not wall and pull to door between toilet and washing machine broken

United KingdomThere was no knife to cut anything, so we had to spend money to buy a knife (there were blunt knives with which it was impossible to cut anything. So it is better not to have it than to have it). The legs of the dining room table were broken, so when we put something or sit down to eat, the table kept moving. In the passage outside the door were a number of bin bags which smelled like they had been in there for weeks.
The house is beautiful and big enough. The house was clean at the time of check in. Everything was neat and tidy. Three of us stayed there for 15 days, up to 5 people could stay happily, we didn't have that much problem.

United KingdomFirst of there was no parking. and WiFi didn’t even work no matter how much we tried. We rang the landlord a few times she just kept saying we never had this problem before, when the reviews online say otherwise. Then she blocked my number and ignored me. The bins were all full and the place looked like it’s never been cleaned and could do with a deep clean. If possible give it a score of 0.5/10 and not a 0 just because the beds actually weren’t too bad.

United KingdomNot enough radiators No where near warm enough in the height of winter Once we checked in and realised how cold it was and myself and partner and child were freezing cold, my partners hands were blue we decided to check out after 2 hours and book somewhere else It was a quick booking, The contact was great for straight after but then waited 2 hours or so to get a response regarding the warmth, booking.com direct message and 2 mobile numbers, calls and txts and once we checked out we got a call back They did apologise, so I ended up paying twice as had to rebook somewhere else

United KingdomSlow Wi-Fi and therefore TV very hard to use as it relies on Wi-Fi. We had to hotspot off our phones to be able to watch anything.
Very clean and definitely stylish. Well looked after.
