How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The bathroom wash basin is so tiny that it was a bit awkward to avoid splashing, otherwise it was fine.
Cozy room with everything you need for a short stay. Comfortable bed and a good choice of hot drinks and breakfast provisions. So useful to have designated parking right outside.

What an Amazing place to stay everything from entering to leaving was spot on the set up in side the studio was fantastic all condiments cutlery was there breakfast items we lovely a bowl of fresh fruit on the table Jimmy is an amazing host would definitely stay again

There was nothing we didn't like about the property, although one very minor negative is that there could have been a small shelf in the shower room for toothbrushes etc.
The studio was spotlessly clean, pleasantly decorated and had everything you'd need for a night or two away. Bread, butter, jams, cereals, yogurts, juice and milk had been left in the fridge for us. Fresh fruit on the table and the addition of a few treats for our dog was a lovely touch. I'd highly recommend a stay here. Conveniently located, easy to find and excellent value for money.

It was as advertised, only better, so not much to dislike.
The property was immaculate, with everything that we needed. There were some lovely touches like the bowl of fruit and the breakfast of orange juice, choice of cereal, yogurt, and toast set us up nicely for the day to come.

The rain but we can't order the weather!
This was an idea place to stay for the two of us and our Labrador dog. Not large but had everything we needed. Beautful countryside and lovely walks. Lovely room and Jimmy made us very welcome.

The shower room was a bit on the small side, but fine for a short stay.
Loved this little cottage. It has everything you would need for a short stay. Fruit, toast, yoghurt and cereal were available together with plenty of coffee. Instructions were clear and good communication with the owner.

The bathroom is very narrow, so a big challenge if you are pregnant, for example. There were also extension leads, plugged into extension leads, which was slightly concerning.
The bed was very comfortable, with additional blankets provided. Everything was perfectly clean. A selection of three cereals, a variety of fruit, flavoured yogurts, bread, butter, jam, juice and milk were provided. There was also a good selection of crockery and cutlery, and the microwave was very helpful for preparing other meals.

Basin in bathroom too small.
Everything was well organised and very clean and tidy. With only one room and a small bathroom there was limited space, but it was extremely well done a served our purpose very well.

Having to get out of bed and leave for a long drive. I would have liked to have stayed longer!
The instructions for finding the key and the parking were extremely clear. The parking space was gererously sized and I had no problem walking right around my saloon car. The bed was fabulously comfortable and the road outside was quiet at night. It was a really peaceful night's sleep. The breakfast was in the fridge and consisted orange juice, milk, bread, butter and jam (toaster available), cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit, great to have a nice choice. I ate it sitting at the table with sunrise sun beams. The decor and lighting were lovely and the bathroom and shower were just right.

As mentioned by a previous guest , a wall mounted TV would free up counter space for all the breakfast equipment....toaster, coffee machine etc.

Maybe in description just say basic toiletries provided. Also a squeegee for the shower would be handy and kitchen roll. The mirror in the bathroom is lovely BUT protrudes too far from the wall which makes it very hard to brush your teeth and keep your head over the sink.
Comfortable bed and basically everything that you needed. Nice welcome of fruit bowl and good selection of breakfast provided with good self catering facilities. Clean and cozy.
