One of the best breakfasts we've had at a hotel. Evening meals were very good too with some interesting flavour twists. The extensive grounds on a sunny Spring morning were a delight with carpets of flowers.

United KingdomThe only negative thing was when we were checking out we were paying our bill using a prepaid gift voucher which was no problem. We owed a small amount extra which we tried to pay using our credit card but the machine wasn't working. The manager said he would ring us later and we could pay over the phone, but we received no call and later the same day we decided to return to the hotel with cash to pay the remainder of our bill. On arrival there was no one around, but eventually we caught the attention of the young man who had served us at dinner the previous evening. We asked to speak to the manager. A different man from the morning manager came out and I explained our dilemma and gave him the cash to cover our outstanding balance. I wasn't offered any receipt or paperwork to say I'd finalised the bill, so I asked for one. The reply was, a receipt would be emailed to me, which I accepted and left, assuming that I would receive confirmation of payment forthwith. I am still waiting for any such email. I do realise it is probably just an oversight and a possible miscommunication due to there being a different manager there later that day. But I would have liked to get an acknowledgement of the fact that I have paid the bill in full and I came back to the hotel to pay in cash and didn't just forget about it. It's only a small matter, but an important one for me. Hope this feed back is helpful for future reference.
We have driven past this hotel many times and always thought, it would be lovely to stay there. We were not disappointed. The hotel is beautiful and has the ambience of a grand old house which is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The staff at dinner and breakfast were attentive, but not overbearing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

United KingdomCurtains not wooden shutters in bed room, did not have any hot water, even after they where informed and they said it would be about 30 minutes for it to work, so cold wash. Had to ask for a bottle of water 3 times which cam after dinner was served. Bar area laid out for dining not a social area.
Breakfast was ok just s few things, toast coming out a few minutes after the English breakfast, not a wide selection of juice and cereals. Good views from bedroom.

United KingdomThe glass pods outside, the fake entrance ivy and the mismatch of garden furniture jarr with the hotels elegence. Looks a bit like a theme park sorry. You could make it so beautiful. The shower in our room wasn't very hot and didn't have much power, only downside of the interior. Did mention this on the morning of our departure.
We liked it's elegence and the food was really delicious. Staff were really pleasant too. It's a beautiful place to stay and we will be back.

United KingdomThe walls were paper thin, you could hear conversations from the rooms next door and the doors had gaps round so you felt like every word you said could also be heard. Nice spa bath but no bubble bath or shower gel.
The room was very pretty and the hotel, bar and surroundings were lovely.
