How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The buzzing noise, even no fans were on, the hot tub was switched off at the mains, all lights off etc the noise meant is was one of the worst sleeps I've had.
Everything apart from the buzzing noise in the room that kept us awake most of the night Room, staff, food and cocktails were all outstanding

Can't speak more highly of our overnight stay at The Telegraph Hotel! Booked relatively last minute for an overnight get away with parents. Needed somewhere 'central' to us all and that we could all reach easily by train. We had a great stay from very friendly staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcome....to great food in the restaurant and cocktails in the bar! A real buzz about the place too. Would come back and will recommend!!

We liked the bar area but one evening it was very difficult to get served as there were several groups staying at the hotel.
We didn't eat at the hotel but the overall experience was excellent. The Receptionist was so helpful and friendly. It was my husband's Birthday which was acknowledged by the staff. Our room was so quiet and we loved the decor. The location was perfect. We thought the charm and quirkiness of the hotel was superb - so much thought has gone into the decor and surroundings.

I could not get Wifi access for the whole week and use my personal hotspot which was not ideal as I was on business. Also, did not like having to pay each time for room service when other hotels allow such items to be added to the overall hotel bill. Meant a lot of extra work when claiming expenses!
A classy hotel with wonderful facilities. Welcoming reception and restaurant staff. Cleaning ladies were very friendly too. Clean facilities. A great place to stay.

It was my Husband’s Birthday and they were so accommodating for this! I ordered balloons there that they happily put in the room for our arrival, put out a lovely plate of treats and a hand written card. Asked how is birthday was on check out too which was so lovely.

Nothing we didn’t like.
We loved the history of the hotel and how they stayed true to the original features of the telegraph building. The level and attention to details from the proper coat hangers in the wardrobe to how they displayed the bread in the breakfast restaurant. Just superb!

Staff and hotel was amazing for the price we paid and the breakfast was delicious. Room was very spacious and very clean and comfy. Locations is just amazing as everything is so close by.

Shame it’s not got its own car park. We parked at the shopping centre.

It was a real pleasure to stay at the Telegraph. With lots of reminders of the building's past as a newspaper office and printing press retained in the refurbishment, the hotel was full of interest. The hotel manager readily responded to our request to see other parts of the hotel and gave us a tour, sharing the history of the newspaper. Room was clean, shower was hot and powerful, the bed was really comfortable and breakfast in the morning was everything we could wish for. The price we paid was excellent for a 4-star hotel.

Incredibly stylish reuse of a high quality 50s building, in a quarter with lots of similar buildings. Well thought out passage between spaces. Good dinner and breakfast.

Location was great as it was in the city centre. Lovely room, nicely decorated and had all necessary amenities. Nice bar. Second time I have stayed here and would definitely recommend.

Absolutely brilliant repurposing of the building - stylish and fascinating, brilliant details and authentic atmosphere. Felt very chic & 50s. Service was outstanding too. And breakfast was great.
