How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing. The coffee machine leaked. But that was it.
Stylish. Well thought out rooms. Very helpful staff. Useful to have fridge. Clean, tidy. And very convenient location.

Can't think of anything!
Excellent location in the city. Really good quality and choice of breakfast. Ate in the restaurant and that was also very good. Reception staff really welcoming whan we arrived.

Not much of a selection at the buffet breakfast like fruits, yogurts, cereals Didn’t see the menu for ordering until after breakfast as the staff were too busy trying to charge me twice for everything
Loved the room, it was fabulously spacious and the bed was sooo comfy! The shower was also amazing

Slightly odd having 2 beds connected rather than 1 but not a huge problem. A bit warm but the weather had just changed.
Good location, iconic building, good breakfast, wonderful company.

It was all fine - probably more pricey than other hotels and I didn't really see what was different.

Parking! It’s difficult to drop off bags/people and there isn’t any onsite parking. NCP isn’t far away, just a bit of a hassle.

No complaints! Maybe the room was slightly warm? But easy fix with the great AC.
Gorgeous hotel. My room was huge - pretty sure I got some kind of free upgrade. Receptionists were lovely. I ordered room service which was quick and delicious. The whole experience was so luxurious despite being one of the cheapest hotels i could find in Cov.

Staff were distracted and it was more 2 star service instead of 4 star. So much so we did not trust ringing them for room service so went downstairs to order but even that was met with little interest. There was a wedding on so felt that maybe this was the distraction, but this needs to improve, a guest is a guest.
Good room size, exceptionally quiet given it was facing the main road in the centre of town. Well furnished and comfortable. Separate table and two seats were big enough to eat at. Comfortable bed, good amenities within the room. Would happily stay again

Couldn't fault this lovely city centre hotel
A gem of a hotel - full of character, beautifully decorated throughout. Clean and bright, spacious bedroom and public areas, and quiet. The food is excellent - we had dinner in the restaurant, and the buffet breakfast. Highly recommended

The buzzing noise, even no fans were on, the hot tub was switched off at the mains, all lights off etc the noise meant is was one of the worst sleeps I've had.
Everything apart from the buzzing noise in the room that kept us awake most of the night Room, staff, food and cocktails were all outstanding

Can't speak more highly of our overnight stay at The Telegraph Hotel! Booked relatively last minute for an overnight get away with parents. Needed somewhere 'central' to us all and that we could all reach easily by train. We had a great stay from very friendly staff that went out of their way to make us feel welcome....to great food in the restaurant and cocktails in the bar! A real buzz about the place too. Would come back and will recommend!!

We liked the bar area but one evening it was very difficult to get served as there were several groups staying at the hotel.
We didn't eat at the hotel but the overall experience was excellent. The Receptionist was so helpful and friendly. It was my husband's Birthday which was acknowledged by the staff. Our room was so quiet and we loved the decor. The location was perfect. We thought the charm and quirkiness of the hotel was superb - so much thought has gone into the decor and surroundings.
