Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe optional breakfast was really expensive so didn't go for it. Very limited channels on the TV. The card holder to activate the lights when you go in, is too thin for the wooden keycard so I recommend using something else as its very difficult to get the keycard out again
Nice hotel and perfectly located for an event I was attending nearby but also really easy to get around the centre of the city. It's an easy walk from the station. Staff were friendly and check in was quick and easy. The room was immaculate and comfy and no noise from other rooms. Good hot shower.

AustriaI was there 3 days and everyday all warm food during breakfast smelled like fish. I would usually go for British breakfast, but the smell was putting me off. There were not many other options to choose from. Being "eco friendly" is implemented in a strange way: you are asked at the reception on how many small tubes of shower gel you need. In case you stay longer, you have to ask for more. Of course, you remember about this only when you are showering and not when coming back to the hotel... Other hotels have better ways of being eco-friendly without sacrificing the basic comfort of their guests.
The location was great - close to the conference venue in surgeon's quarter. Plenty of shops and dining options.

United KingdomThe way housekeeping kept going in & out the rooms opening & closing the doors, very annoying as they bang quite loud, couldn’t understand why they couldn’t keep the door open, do their work then close the door..they must have went in & out the room’s next to me at 30/40 times or maybe more, it was awful.

The room was a very good size and the beds were very comfortable. The facilities in the room were really good. Just one tiny thing; the toilet roll kept falling off the holder, which was loose, and rolling across the bathroom floor. The location was excellent. Not on the main road but on the side street made for a quiet stay. It was close to the theatre and the city centre.

We chose not have breakfast so cannot comment on that but the room and hotel were immaculate. The Reception was excellent and the staff warm and welcoming. We were able to leave our luggage until later in the day after checking out.

From the moment we checked in we felt most welcome and the staff were excellent in all respects. The room was perfect in size and cleaner than most 5 star hotels we have stayed in. The location, within 5 minutes walk of the Royal Mile, was a wonderful surprise.
