It could do with a deep clean especially the outside courtyard and the windows the table was covered in green moss so unusable

    It was central for everything

Comfortable, spacious property and a great location, however lacking certain essentials

    - There were only 3 main dinner plates provided, not enough for the 4 people stopping - There were only 5 mugs available - more would have been better given there was a dishwasher - There were only small glasses provided, considering there is a brewery just down the road we had to purchase our own pint glasses (which we took home) - The lounge was very spacious, however there were no occasional tables to put drinks etc. on - The lighting in the lounge/diner could have been better. There was a standard lamp and a 'light feature' in the lounge that gave inadequate lighting for the whole area. The alternative was to put the spotlights on in the dining area which was much too bright. A second standard lamp or similar at the other end of the room would improve this. - There was no lock on the bathroom door! We were a party of 2 couples sharing the one bathroom, so had to devise a system to indicate the bathroom was occupied to avoid embarrassing interruptions. - A 'nice to have' would be blackout blinds/curtains in the bedrooms, particularly the rear bedroom as it gets the early morning sun shining through the paper thin curtains - There was too much 'furniture' in the front bedroom (wardrobes and drawers), however not enough practical space to put items, e.g. no bedside cabinets - The heating controls are situated above a door. This was fine for me as I am over 6ft, however the shorter members of the party could only access this by precariously balancing on a chair

The property was very central to Helmsley, we liked the fact that the village was literally on your doorstep. The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable, however we felt it did lack certain essentials.

    Just a welcome pack!

Loved the town and the house was fabulous! A very small suggestion would be a welcome pack with fresh milk, bread and butter but the coffee and tea were appreciated. Loved the food in The Feathers and in the Deli! We had a huge salad from there on numerous nights they were so nice.

Only mildly negative thing is that the parking is not exactly on location, hey it still works well for being on the high street

The place is well furnished, clean, nice and with a nice light and in a great position. The staff was not on location by I misplaced a personal item and they went above and beyond to help me find it, they were excellent.

It was short on drinking glasses. The cutlery was poor and in my opinion needs replacing. The handles came off 2 of the knives, probably from over use in the dishwasher. No bedside tables or dressing table in front bedroom ok for us as the other bedroom was available. Traffic noise in the morning was very loud with the window open and as it was a warm few days we needed open.

The property was spacious for 2 people. The kitchen reasonably well equipped. Hot water was ample and lovely and hot.

could have done with black out blinds or black out curtains in both bedrooms, particularly the second bedroom. too much light streaming through at 5am.

open plan of it all and the location so near to the centre

we didn’t like: the parking arrangement which was around the back of an adjoining property with a walk through an unlit, unpaved pathway, no rear access to property. the shared courtyard with adjoining property that was just screened off with a screen that blew over all the time. the flimsy interconnecting door with adjoining property where the voices of a large all male party could be heard on the first night. the central heating controls being above a door, if you are under 5’6 you will not be able to reach them, also the heating reset itself all the time so we had to keep increasing the temperature the instructions for the heating were for a different property and were in a room we didn’t have lol the log burner had no logs and no instructions about how to use it no tea towels provided, when we asked only 1 was left for us for a whole week no ironing board until requested only 3 mugs in kitchen only small glasses provided apart from wine glasses. no towel rails in bathroom no bin in main bathroom no small side tables in living area to put cups of tea etc

property seemed newly furnished and furniture was comfortable. I think the newness of the rental property meant that a lot of things were missing that would have made it perfect. shower was excellent. Great location. agent responded quickly when asked.

There was a connecting (locked) door between properties. You could hear the people in the other property talking. I think more could be made of the rear yard to make it more useable. Maybe blinds on the door from the adjoining property.

I liked the central location with parking.

As the previous reviewer said, there are basic things that are missing (enough mugs, coffee tables to put drinks, lamps, main bathroom bin etc.) and hadn't been rectified by the time we began our stay. There are no instructions for the log burner, no basket for wood or any implements to tend to a fire. The garden partition with the adjoining property really needs to be looked at - it's ugly and falls over all the time. Once these basic things are sorted out, it will be a far more comfortable place to stay but at the moment it feels like it's been finished in a bit of a hurry!

The location is excellent. You're right in the heart of Helmsley and within walking distance of shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries. The shower is powerful and the beds are comfortable.
