Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe reception we received from the night manager I think he was called James after asking the receptionist whilst checking out this morning (shorter bald male). We arrived at the hotel around 12.30pm and our rooms weren't quite ready which was expected so we checked in our bags and the staff were really helpful and said we could come back later. Half the group came back around 5pm and checked in but myself and another couple stayed in town and returned around 10.30pm after one of the group had over indulged. We took him to his room after getting the room number off James and asked to check in. James wasn't very welcoming and told us that the hotel was full and the "he loves his staff sometimes" implying that the fact they had told us to check in later was incorrect. I had told him from the start that we had rooms booked but hadn't checked in and that our bags were in their storage room from earlier. He then took quite a long time allocating us a couple of rooms which were wrong as he gave me and a friend the double which should have been a twin and the other lad a twin but we sorted this by swapping rooms ourselves. Not once did he apologise for the delay and couldn't even be bothered to give us our room keys and left this to another member of the team and said "give them those" with no directions to our room or any info regarding lifts etc. I understand that staff have to deal with people under he influence and it must be quite annoying at times but I myself wasn't drunk. I would like to point out that the young girl stood by reception who got our bags was very friendly and was chatting to us about our night and where we had been and it's a shame James didn't have the same welcoming attitude.
Nice hotel and the room was modern and had every thing we needed for our stay

Isle of ManThe shoddy housekeeping which included pillowcases being inside out, poor pillows, hard towels. The room smelled musty and some other unnamed smell. The literatures was old and well used, creases, tacky. Housekeeping on second day was cleaning of bathroom and bed made and nothing else. Dirty crockery was left on the side table which had not been cleaned. Coffee and teas were not restocked.

United KingdomI especially booked a family room so my adult son & I had our own beds. On arrival only one double bed , camp bed I used was very uncomfortable & mattress soiled which I didn’t realise until I stripped bed on check out. Dining room too small for amount of residents, Sunday morning was like a cattle mart, huge queues, rude, miserable dining room manager, no name badge, no one on station at dining room to take room numbers so I was looking to tick myself off as I knew the procedure from day before, the manager was abrupt stating that’s a staff list & then said we are full just now, if you want breakfast you need to wait or take it to your room, not enough staff to clear tables for turnover. In addition the cereal was cheap quality not Kelloggs which even cheap B & B’s provide. Despite lovely view of pier head windows filthy. Despite being in a superior room I saw nothing extraordinary apart from fancy toiletry bottles which upon being in the shower discovered were empty! Unless prices much cheaper wouldn’t stay again, for price paid expected much better service & quality.
Check in was speedy & staff on reception very welcoming. Issues with room but staff sorted promptly.e. Extra bed Location was central Car parking not directly at the hotel but near by & easy to locate. Dining room waitress think her name was Leaorona or similar was very helpful & cheery despite the pressure she was facing. View of pier head was lovely

United KingdomMost of it really. The room did look good the mural above the bed was nice and the view was good. The bathroom was good. That however is where it ends. The air conditioning unit look like it was built in the 1970s and not been touched it was a powerful as broken fan. The tv was fine however the remote was just crap. Stiff buttons. The shower drain cover kept coming off twice I had to but the cover back on and it had the draining capacity of a block of wood. The room lighting was poor. It’s all well and good having lights in the bathroom and in the part where the mirror is but it would be more ideal for a room of that size to have a main light rather than two lamps. The hair dryer was broken. Well ish on full power which most people use to dry their hair, the fan in the hair dryer, get catching on the case and made a vile noise. In my room it had only one working set of plug sockets as both plugs on my friend side of the bed was broken. Do you guys check your technology to see if it’s at working order. This is the sort of thing I expect from a 2 start hotel. Hell the premier inn is better. How you managed to get 4 stars is beyond me

United KingdomWe were in a room at the back so the view from our room wasn't the greatest we were looking out onto other hotels and lots of other windows. But that's not necessarily bad thing. I didn't like that I couldn't open a window in the room tho, It would have been nice to let air into the room whilst we were out. Around the windows had mould but again that's not anyone's fault. I looked specifically for a hotel with breakfast included in the price as I knew I'd be out and about and travelling a long way to and from ther but upon arriving to the hotel I was told I had to pay for breakfast again. Which was disappointing. I'd even messaged through the booking.com app prior to arrival to ask and make sure breakfast was included and was told it was so quite dissapointeed I had to pay for that. Staff were helpful but didn't get anywhere with anyone about this issue as management were not in at the time of our stay so upon leaving was just given an email address to email about our issue. I feel this could have been dealt with better.
I like the location very central which was good for going to and from places. I like the overall cleanliness was good. The shower was good.

United KingdomAlthough a decent view, unable to open windows and could have done with a clean, I am guessing not easy to keep the outside clean due to location
Location was great, the breakfast was better than we were expecting with plenty of choice. The room was a little smaller than we expected but clean and adequate for our overnight stay. Lovely terrace on the second floor. We parked on the NCP carpark which was only a 2 minute walk and easy to access, £16.95 for 24 hours.
