Off on a Northumberland weekend away

    • Double or Twin Room

Dinner in my view was below par.. looked like it was all brought in and heated up. Parking can be a bit tricky, this was only an issue due to the raging storm that was on the go when we were there. Bit of a refurb going on so main Hotel building had scaffolding up, needs to be done to get the job done but doesn't look very appealing.

All was good with the room, very clean and comfy. Hotel is in a great spot with nice views, breakfast was good. Ambience in restaurant and pub really cosy and nice. Staff were very good.

The rooms a bit too warm, we also paid £40 extra for a sea view room but unfortunately the window was quite small and there was scaffolding outside our window - the room was really nice but i wouldn't pay extra for a sea view next time

The pub/restaurant at the hotel was lovely, the food was really nice, and extremely friendly and helpful staff! Excellent location as well

Car parking was limited, there being more rooms than parking spaces. Realistically, it is very unlikely anyone checking in after 3pm will be able to park at the hotel. There is parking (£9 for 24 hours) across the road and adjacent to the property so not being able to park is not a worry. Its just a bit further to walk (about 1 minute - just awkward if it raining and you have several bags.

This hotel is very dog friendly. I was able to book a table each evening so that my two large dogs (Greyhounds) had enough space. A pre packed doggy dinner was available. The room I booked had a garden, again great for dog owners. Staff were friendly towards both dogs and me. Also very good was that a free drink was offered to encourage geen laundry options.

The breakfast , sausage , bacon , black pudding was horrible , put on hot plates & dried up ! Tasteless !

The new bar/restaurant area , if fantastic , great spaces & lots of light in from roof ! Nice to see a good selection of different beers & couple of cask ales !

Nothing The Bamburgh Castle Inn has it just right. Maybe a touch up of paint work on landings . Don't let it get too tired.

Rooms were wonderful. Booked a basic double yet bed was large and so comfortable. Bathroom warm and wellll equipped . And the Sea view to wake up to, what more could you ask for. Superb

Breakfast buffet was nearly empty at 9am and was slow to be refilled. We thought it was quite pricey compared to our other b&bs.

Work was being carried out on the roof and scaffolding was being erected but the workmen were pleasant and lively and did not detract from our stay.

Great breakfast and hotel location is perfect. The room we had was great with a terrific view. We have stayed in it before and we’re delighted when the staff indicated it was available for us again.

The main entrance was difficult to find. There isnt actually a sign for the hotel in the front of the main car park entrance (off the roundabout). We ended up at a side entrance. There was a bit of confusion in that we were offered a free drink from the bar instead of having house keeping. I thought that meant a turn-down service but actually it meant making beds, replacing dirty tea/coffee mugs and cleaning bathroom. Which i would have preferred as this is one of the things you dont get at home! The coffee at breakfast was pretty average. Would prefer something a bit stronger.

Dog friendly hotel with very helpful staff. Our room had a balcony with sea view and was a wonderful spot. Dog enjoyed it too as lots of lovely beaches nearby to run about on. Lovely breakfast. First time visiting this part the UK and we really enjoyed it, We were lucky with the weather too !

Car parking or lack of it. Where parking is limited many hotels pay for guests to stay in a local car park. At £9.50 for 24 hours (only option if you don’t want to leave before 8.00) this would be a nice gesture when we had paid £578 for two nights.

Attractive room - clean, well furnished with a great view. Location in the village enabled you to walk out to different places. Plentiful breakfast - good to be able to order fresh porridge and poached eggs.

Nothing! Apart from as described above, the view from the initial room - 13. Not worth paying extra for.

Beautiful location, comfortable room (although asked for a different one from the one that was allocated as I had paid extra for a sea view and room 13 had an extremely limited sea view and no view of the harbour) Room 19 was very nice. Excellent breakfast with friendly, helpful waiting staff.
