How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Originally booked the economy double room. the description of room facilities is wholly misleading. if that room is 20m2, then I suggest they buy a new tape measure. facilities also said that fridge and cooking facilities were in the room. that also wasn’t the case and there wasn’t a window that could be opened. Fortunately, the brilliant service from reception found us an alternative room, otherwise we would have had to find another place to stay.

The location is central. You have access on foot to cafes, and restaurants. Very chic town and very friendly too.

I needed to borrow a hairdryer in the morning and there was no one around till later in the morning.

People in other rooms were not following the after 10pm silence rule.

We didn’t know how to use the oven and staff weren’t in yet so we couldn’t use it, the rooms were quite small but fair for the price. The showers didn’t have a curtain or anything so water splashed all over the bathroom.
The staff were very friendly and the whole area was very well kept. The kitchen area was easy and accessible, there were also board games and towels on the bed for us. The location was brilliant since it’s right opposite a tesco with (at the time) free overnight parking, And right in the heart of the town.

Noise travels easily. I could hear the corridor but nothing too late or too early.
Great location. Comfortable stay for the price. Hot shower. Friendly welcome at check-in. I'd happily stay again

Limited space in the bedroom, some hooks on the wall would have been good and perhaps an extra shelf on the wall by the foot of the bed

Room was unbearably hot and the reception is only open in the afternoons so there was no luggage storage option.

The shower was very narrow, but usable. The top bunk could hv done with a little ledge/shelf to put a phone/mug on.
The staff were very helpful, the beds comfortable and kitchen well-equipped. Had a lovely stay there. Spent time in Cirencester and in the Cotswolds.

It’s a hostel, so basic - no bar or dining room, only self catering. But for the price, pretty good value.
Great central location and super-friendly staff with a warm welcome on reception. Looks recently refurbished, super clean and a quiet night’s sleep. great advice re: parking too. Will certainly stay again.

Limited cycle storage so best if you book in advance. The email telling you this arrives after you check in - so pretty pointless. Be prepared for several booking confirmations and lots of spam afterwards urging you to rate your visit. Rooms are okay but a bit small and cramped - especially the family ones with bunk beds. Very little storage space. I had a single (disabled) room this time which was more spacious but still basic. As usual in hostels, quite a bit of noise from other guests and the fire doors close with a slam - it's okay if people close them gently but not if they let them go. Basically, use it for a cheap night
Modern but basic hostel right in the centre of Cirencester, so well placed for a night out. Second time I've stayed here as a base for local cycle routes. Generally good value though the booking system is a bit confused - you can use either YHA or Booking.com (it's cheaper on booking.com for some reason) Friendly reception staff and nice modern kitchen facilities if you want to make a breakfast or order takeaway. Beds are comfy, water is hot - but it's all a bit soulless.
