How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

No air con in room. Very hot. Very uncomfortable nights sleep, even with window and fan on. Such a shame.

Like the option to pick some bits for breakfast. But this is only a minor thing. Breakfast on the whole was lovely.
Location and view was amazing. Staff all very friendly and helpful.

I think certain areas needed a good paint !! Attention to detail with cleaning needs improving. The carpet in our room was stained in places. Both teacups were dirty first morning at breakfast. Orange juice on table at breakfast wasn't covered or used by us each morning .Floor in breakfast room / dining room wasn't clean, tables in dining room need replacing. Dining room / breakfast room looked grubby.

To be honest it took a while to get used to the weird tap in the bathroom!
Room was lovely, we were aware we wouldn't have a view and it was still nice. Staff were great.

Not many parking spaces, had to park in paid for car park.
Spacious beautifully comfortable room with a large bathroom. Impressive breakfast with very friendly well trained staff.

Evening meels good but not cordon bleu. Prices. They are what they are today and I guess average for similar establishments. But nevertheless high for pensioners!! Parking in season may be difficult but only a short walk away to the public car park.
Excellent full English bfast. Evening Menu - plenty to chose from varied menu. Decor and atmosphere modern and relaxed. Very nice room and snaz bathroom. Super view at front. Parking good at this time of year (April)

All aspects of the hotel staff were brilliant location was brilliant. Rooms were so clean and tidy bed
All lovely only one issue one morning with breakfast where bacon was so hard it was in editable but the following morning the staff and the cook made up for that by giving us an absolutely wonderful breakfast

See above. Dust issues. Stairs difficult for those with mobility issues. Need recycling facilities. Need downstairs toilet too.
Breakfast was great. We could choose whatever we wanted or combinations from menu. Apartment was great, but would benefit from an additional downstairs toilet to help those with disabilities as stairs quite difficult. Hand rail also on other side would be good. Dust left on windowsills behind shutters all time we were there. Outside area scruffy and not inviting. Otherwise we lived the apartment, suited our needs well.

Unfortunately they had an issue with the heating, and despite being a cold day, the hotel was too hot. This made it more difficult re sleeping

Double deluxe bed kept calapsing in the middle as made up of two singles. May be worth spinning and putting velcro straps under to ensure they stay put.
Rooms are beautiful and the bathroom was lush!! Great location to the beach and easily accessible to town.

I didn't stay long enough!
It's got to be up there with one of the best places we have stayed. The rooms are very well fitted out and really clean. The staff were all brilliant and very helpful. The bar and restaurant attached were great, had a fantastic meal and breakfast in a lovely atmosphere
