We did have an early check-in, compliments of the Inn which was great. So, thank you for that. It was cold in the room and took a while to heat up. Staff did tend to the thermostat straight away and rectified it.

Lovely light bedroom with a comfy bed. Interios are very nice in both bedroom and bathroom.

A small thing- we were staying for our wedding and would have loved this to be acknowledged somehow such a drink or something in the room

We absolutely loved our stay at The Bear, Hodnet. We particularly liked the cosy decor, friendly staff and delicious food. We will be back!

When weddings are on or any events get a private taxi company to be available getting transport to and from our venue was shocking we had to come home when the taxi man said we couldn’t choose are own time it was that or nothing

Welcome was ok, one member of staff was friendlier than the other (female member of staff on in the evening was very accommodating), not cheap but you pay for a comfortable stay!

Great decor, and comfort to the rooms, lovely food and breakfast, coffee was very good!

The restaurant prices are a little steep, but they are delicious, artistically presented and Michelin Start standard, and you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend eating here.

The rooms were nicely decorated,very comfortable and well equipped. The staff very helpful and informative. I would recommend eating in the restaurant, the food is contemporary but really lovely. The breakfast is very substantial and caters for all tastes. A very special place to stay

Everything was fabulous. The room, booking in, the food was incredible including the breakfast!!! Staff were SO kind, helpful and flexible by putting on breakfast earlier for us.

Tiny comment but the music in the restaurant was not quite in keeping and took away from the experience. It was bad wedding/disco music or pop. Would really elevate it to have something more in keeping with the hip aesthetic e.g. Hermanos Gutierrez, Jon McKiel, Ignacio Maria Gomez, Kevin Morby, Cymande, Drug Cabin, Katy J Pearson, Simon Joyner, Joan Shelley, Dave Van Ronk, Kurt Vile, Charley Crockett, Arooj Aftab, Allah-Las, Kokoroko…the list goes on. Hopefully that helps!

The lighting in the room could have been a bit better

Really friendly staff and excellent service, delicious dinner and accommodating to dietary requirements. Room were a good size with comfy bed and nice size bathroom and had things you need like tea and coffee making facilities, plugs by bed etc.

What a find The Bear Inn is! Delicious dinner and very comfortable overnight stay. The food was extremely good, we had dinner and breakfast, both exceptional. great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant, very welcoming feel. What really makes this place shine are the exceptional staff, they can't do enough to help, courteous, polite, very knowledgeable about the food and wines provided. They work to an exceptionally high standard. Our room was beautifully fitted out with no expense spared on the fixtures and fittings, very comfortable bed and stylishly decorated throughout. Overall a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.
