How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Not a problem for me but private party downstairs could be heard very clearly until midnight when it ended. I expected noise on a Saturday night in town centre. Room a little dated but for the price, this was certainly not a problem.
Good price. Black out curtains were ideal. In the very centre of town with free parking. Beautiful building downstairs.

Confusion over location of car park.

The room was cold and the radiator needed a member of staff to turn it on ( very cold weather in April) We still needed a heater as rad very small in the large room Breakfast was very limited with unbelievably no porridge available! No fresh fruit or cold meats etc There was not one member of staff that could manage a smile

I was at the front of the building which was very noisy in the early hours, and with road sweeping lorries on the Sunday morning. Also a plug socket near the bed would be good!!

It’s nothing major, however the room we had the bed was not overly comfortable to say the least. A minor thing for only one night but it’s certainly something that could be improved. The room itself isn’t in keeping with the rest of the building which is a little bit of a shame I must say but totally understandable.
The property itself is beautiful inside. I didn’t know it was as oldy worldy as it is and honestly wish I’d had a better look around and tried some of the facilities within. Great location, very easy to park in and central for everything. Staff were polite and friendly, couldn’t do more to help.

I wouldn’t visit Peterborough out of choice. I walked through the town centre around 10:30 on the Wednesday night and did not feel safe - I’m normally not that sort of person! Lots of homeless people wandering around in groups during the day too - I know it’s not their fault and they need support but it doesn’t look good for the town.
The Bull is a Nice hotel in a good location just in the wrong town.

Location was shocking, did not enjoy as drunks, drugs people and homeless coming up to you all the time , felt unsafe in the street at the door.

Overall it was good,
We didn't have breakfast due to issues previously, but I'm sure it's improved now. Nice pleasant girl with long dark hair, (sorry didn't get her name) behind the bar on the night of the wedding. Quite busy, but if she caught your eye straight on it, and knew the round each time. Aad as requested, a room with the traditional wet heating system as the hot air systems don't agree with us.

Poorly organised breakfast with huge wedding party guests (40-50?) cramming in to join queue for hot breakfast without any warning or any respect for the hotel residents who were already in restaurant. My wife had to wait 15 mins to join back of queue!

My only negative is the organisation during breakfast. Service was poor, despite waiting to be seated as directed I was told to find somewhere to sit myself. Items were missing on the table and I had to ask buffet service staff for coffee and toast as no waiting staff around.
