Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomUnfortunately couldnt get car parking where you suggested as road works and temp traffic lights outside cottage prevented parking outside and opposite also as signs up saying no parking. However managed to park outside another holiday cottage further down which was empty so was able to park outside it after lady in Sunny side cottage advised to park there.

United KingdomA very comfortable and well presented little cottage in a nice little village. Has a nice little courtyard for sitting out with a G&T. Well stocked village shop. Kitchen was a little bit chilly first thing...a small infrared radiator ( on a timer) mounted on the wall would have taken the chill off the room, but it wasnt really too bad as the weather was reasonably warm. Would highly recommend.

United KingdomThere isn’t anything that we didn’t like about The Burrow.
We loved The Burrow, it was clean and very well appointed. The kitchen was just perfect and so was the rain shower in the lovely bathroom. The house was warm, cosy and peaceful. A great couple of nights sleep too. The dog loved the treats.

Fantastic property for a couple, lovely neighbourhood and great for exploring the area. I loved that it was truly dog friendly too, full supplies provided for the pooch! He was very happy 😊

United KingdomNothing not to like.
A lovely ,comfortable cottage perfect for two people in a quiet village. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and attention to detail is superb. Has a wood burning stove in the living area which was lovely and cosy in the evening. The bathroom has a fantastic rain shower which I could have stayed in for hours and the bed was very comfortable as was the lovely leather sofa. Free parking just outside the house which also has a patio with seating to enjoy a glass of wine. There is a local store on the doorstep for supplies and Morebattle is situated less than 10 mins drive from both Kelso and Jedburgh. The Borders are a beautiful part of the world and the owners were fantastic when I enquired about staying an extra night. Very helpful with lots of information on where to visit. Can't wait to return.

United KingdomJust a few points for the owners: -The biscuits left for us were unfortunately out of date which was a shame -The dishes (pots, pans, plates) were not cleaned well by the previous guests as they had food marks on them. -The hot water didn't get hot enough in either the kitchen or upstairs/shower on our last night/morning. It was lovely and hot every day before that so not sure if this was just a one off thing.
-Lovely cottage with everything you need -It was very cold during our stay so the fire was very handy and easy to use -The bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable -The location was great and locals were really friendly -We had a great time at the cottage!

United KingdomThere was nothing we did not like in The Burrow.
We liked everything about The Burrow. Very cozy accommodation and finished to a very high standard and specification. Superb kitchen with everything you could possibly need. 1st floor bathroom and bedroom again superbly appointed, and accessed by a quirky cast iron spiral staircase (take some slippers..!!.). Loverly lounge with big 'smart tv' and excellent sound bar. Very powerful Wi-Fi throughout. Delightful small (private) outside area behind kitchen where you can enjoy the beautiful peace and quiet Morebattle has to offer. We were here for 16 nights and loved every minute of it. Superb local cycling routes (be warned... ; there is no flat terrain round here...!!) Community Store next door but one, and 2 minutes walk to local pub. Amy was the perfect host and very helpful with any queries we had. Wish we had been there longer, and we will definitely return. ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS IN EVERY RESPECT.. 👍👍👍👍👍
