How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The rooms were very small, hardly can open the luggage, the only bathroom was inside the main room, very disturbing the person who slept in the main room.
The staff was very friendly, the check in process was smooth, has free car parking out side the door, the breakfast was good. The property was clean, beds were comfortable, has three beds was convenient for light sleepers.

There was no blind or net curtain at the window and as I was on the ground floor everyone could see straight in and see me which I didn't like. Only option was to pull the heavy curtains and put the light on in the middle of the day.
Convenient to Cambridge city centre. Not too far out. Everything was clean.

The room was large enough and clean. The breakfast was really good. We were visiting friends who live this side of town so it was really handy to be within walking distance of them and we liked not having to drive right through the centre of town and find parking. We parked around the corner from the accommodation as there were road works going on but this worked out OK.

The toilet wasn't easy to flush (room 6)
The ease of booking. The room was ready early which allowed us to leave our bag. We were allowed to leave our car on the car park all day. The room was clean and comfortable. Refreshments and toiletries were available. Breakfast, especially the coffee was good.

When we arrived the room was very cold. The heatibg is controlled and touching even the handle of the doors was cold. Construction near the house. Screeching fan in the bathroom. A bit of a long walk to city centre.
Hot water in rhe shower and clean. Breakfast was good . Kettle in room. TV. Calling Taxi and check in was easy.

The bathroom could do with updating.
There was plenty of parking and the check-in system was straightforward. There was shower gel, shampoo and soap, cotton pads and buds, plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate. There was a staff member to welcome you to breakfast and take your order, which was a cooked breakfast or cereal, with different teas, coffee, juice. Really nice experience.

I'll fitting window so traffic noise louder than should have been. Mould on bathroom ceiling. Room not serviced unless you make a phone call.

Perhaps, the distance to the centre was something that I overlooked.
It was nice, clean, pleasant, Good breakfast options.. staff polite and helpful. Comfortable bed, everything was there that we needed for the short stay.

Room was a little overcrowded with furniture. No. 6 - consider taking one or two of the smaller items from the room.
Service for breakfast was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Good choice of food and more than enough to eat.

The smell of the breakfast was strongly present in the rooms upstairs. As the house is old, the sound insulation is almost not existent. A lady has taken 2 parking lots, so we had to improvise where to park our car.
The breakfast was good. The place is freshly renovated.

The roadworks outside caused major problems getting back at night,and the toilet seat in room 6 was so flimsy it could have broken at any moment.

The guesthouse is in a great location - very close to the city centre and right next to a pub. Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We definitely recommend the guesthouse by Tas!

Easy to find on main road but quiet. The room was on the small side and the wording on the room details said ‘large’ double bed but the bed was a standard sized double bed, this was misleading. The breakfast was good.

Not anyone in the place to ask for help - self check in is quite soulless. Flimsy furniture in the bedroom with a faulty drawer and wobbly radiator in the bathroom. The breakfast was served in a small room - my husband had to sit in the doorway between the dining room and kitchen.
The place was clean and well supplied with nice towels and a variety of teas in the room. The bed was comfy with nice cotton sheets and duvet.
