No bedside lights or bedside tables. Not a big deal though.

Very friendly staff, great food! Comfortable room with everything we needed, nice bathroom. The Carew Arms is an old old building with slopey stairs and landings, but that's what I call 'character' - much more interesting than a soul-less chain hotel.

Enjoyed our stay but facilities for accommodation are in desperate need of updating and decorating
    • Leisure trip

Property is very old parts being 15th century and majority of the building needs updating. Stairs from g/f to accommodation on first floor are in very poor state and treads slope and move. Separate bathroom to our bedroom (No 6) was in very aged condition and heater did not work and issue with plumbing as when another bathroom was in use, the hot water to the shower ceased and only provided cold water. Also the internal partition wall to our bedroom and adjacent hallway was not properly closed as light could be seen at the top of the wall within the bedroom

Breakfast was very good and tasty and good value and evening meal before was also good and managed to accommodate a group of 10 of us staying for a wedding. Bed was comfortable and we could heat the room adequately Staff were lovely and beer well kept and served at good temperature
