Not enough drawer space. Poor touch lamps. Stopped serving food at 5 O'clock on Sunday. Had to go into town to find somewhere to eat.

Location is quite nice, next to lovely Wharton Park, but a bit out of the center of town. Having some kind of breakfast service, or at least coffee before 9 would be better.

It’s on a main road but nothing that can be done about that. Central location made up for it.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable with a lovely big bathroom. Great location for transport links and plenty of reasonably priced metered parking nearby if you can’t get in the small on site carpark.

Bed was a little too soft but maybe due to my personal taste, TV had no aerial cable so could not use (Didn't need it to be honest but others may want this). Personal choice again but room was a Bath with shower over (Prefer shower enclosure) and shower head was tiny! No sockets near desk meaning kettle had to be boiled on the floor.

Lovely, clean and comfortable room. Appeared freshly decorated and new fittings throughout, bedding and towels fresh and clean. Host was lovely and explained everything really well. Lots of hot water and nice toiletries a bonus. Room was warm, quiet and location was superb for walking into Durham (15 mins), a little steep on the way back but not too bad.

The kettle in the room didn't work so didn't even manage a cup of tea before setting off for work.

Other half enjoyed a full breakfast, but I was already working. I understand this place is under relatively new ownership and struggling to get a breakfast chef in, however I'd definitely recommend as a dog-friendly place to stay and the newly decorated rooms and comfy bed were great!

Parking is a bit restricted . Was cold when went to room but once we asked them to put heating on this was solved. No spoons in room for hot drinks TV had to sign into your own tv licence? Quite expensive as £100 for room only no breakfast include.

Stayed here before two years ago so is a memorable special place forus. Bedrooms have been done out lovely. Bed was so comfy.

Service was poor. Having had my main course at dinner, I had to take my plate up to the bar to request the menu which never came. In the end I gave up and went to my room. I gather the cook left the pub two days ago. To get the tv to watch BBC I was expected to go through all sorts of rigmarole to tune into terrestrial television. The shower sprayed onto the floor, regardless as to how I positioned the shower head. There was no breakfast available until 0900.

Very hot room. One window overlooked neighbouring house so had to keep blind closed. No meal option for Sunday evening. Steep staircase to accommodation. Water glasses were dirty.

Quiet location on outskirts of centre but walkable. Parking. Good sized room.

The key got stuck in the lock when we returned at midnight, we were left having to sleep with the key still on the outside and after several attempts nobody answered the out of hours telephone. Had I of been a lone female I would of been left very vulnerable and don’t think I would of stayed the night and would of had to try to look for an alternative, I did bring this up with the management and it’s an outside company who deal with this and directed the call back to the bar of which was closed. This would have also been the case had we not of been able to get into the property at all! The room was really hot due to the bathroom radiator being extremely hot and unable to turn off. Although a nice pleasant little room I wouldn’t return due to having no confidence in the out of hours team which is a shame.

Great stay. Beds were very comfortable, staff were great all went out of their way to be helpful and nice. Room had everything we needed. Good atmosphere, would stay again.
