Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI hadn’t noticed that the pub downstairs isn’t open after 8 on a Monday so missed out on a pint or two before bedtime, my fault for not reading the description properly. Bed was quite soft for my taste as I prefer a firm mattress. Some inevitable road noise if you’re in a room overlooking the road through the village.
Very handy location if you want somewhere near A34 & Didcot station, clean comfortable room and a friendly welcome. Room has character - oak beam ceiling, barely a level surface in the place ;)

United KingdomThe rooms were accessed via a fire escape so you need to be steady on your pins. This was good in one way in that we could come and go without disturbing anyone. My shower was stuck on super hot so I used the one in the other room we booked.
Shows it’s grand age in a quirky fashion - wobbly floorboards so floor on a slope in some spots - mind the glasses on the dressing tables, they will slide! Characterful interior with exposed beams. Feels homely and has a friendly atmosphere. Kayley arranged for the two rooms to face one another and the corridor was one way so we had privacy. There was little noise from the pub, surprisingly although the room at the front receives a lot of traffic din and the road is very busy. This didn’t bother my sister who actually likes background noise to sleep! My room was facing the rear courtyard and was peaceful. We slept very well. The reason I gave ‘fair’ for cleanliness is that the duvet in one room needs replacing - the bedding itself and towels were clean as were the showers and sinks. The pub has a great position in that the major roads are 5 mins away. The actual village green and area around is pretty and there are walks down Pugsden Lane leading to open countryside. Visit the Farmoor Reservoir - it’s very scenic. Use park and ride for Oxford as driving is manic in the city.

Great for what we wanted - visiting friends in the village. We stay here regularly, it's in the perfect location for us.

United KingdomThe only negative thing I would say is the shower flooded after 3mins so I had to stop and restart the shower multiple times just to wash my hair and wash my body. Water didn't drain quickly at all, shower was still full of water 1hour after finishing. There were fairy lights but didn't work and only 1 working bedside light, shame as the rest of the room was perfect.
The staff were lovely and very accommodating for my puppy. The room was on the courtyard and was a great size, had an ensuite. Advert said just had a kettle but you had a full tray of biscuits, coffee, tea, sugar etc which was lovely.

United KingdomThere was nothing We didn't like. The only thing we would say is it was nice to have the biscuits and chocolates in the room for the hoomans and although there were dog treats at the bar it would of been nice too of had some in the room maybe instead of the chocolate. Just a suggestion.
The staff were very friendly. Always making sure everything was OK even for our fur babies. The food was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

United KingdomThe fan in the bathroom is noisy
We received a very friendly welcome and were shown to our room in a quiet courtyard at the back of the pub. Perfect for dog owners - no stairs to negotiate. The room was large and well appointed. On booking.com it said there was a kettle but there was much more - a full tray of tea and coffee plus a hospitality tray with biscuits & chocolates (see photo). The bed was comfortable but springy!

United KingdomThe room was large and bed was very comfortable. It opened out into a lovely courtyard. It was very quiet and the staff were very friendly. We had a lovely meal in the pub, with lovely ambience. There was a handy coop nearby for any extras we needed. Easy bus links into Abingdon Town centre and beyond.

United KingdomI can't think of anything that I didn't like
The location was ideal for us as we had been to the car driving experience at Abingdon which is only a 15-minute drive away. The bar served some very nice real ales and the food we had in the evening was of a very good standard. The room was spacious and clean. The tea and coffee-making facilities were great, and we even got a chocolate on our pillow.
