There were a few things in the room that could have been better. A dripping tap in the sink,shower cubicle on the whole could have done with a face lift.

Guests' experience might benefit from a little further training and/or supervision of the breakfast serving-staff? And I'm afraid our bedroom was left unlocked by the cleaning staff on the first full day of our stay. A pity, because if details like this could be attended to (as they easily could and should be) this would be even more an unmistakable gem of a hotel.

Location, character and facilities of public and private rooms all excellent. And to the considerable credit of the management, unrequested financial compensation for a temporary and unforeseeable hotel equipment failure during our stay was very magnanimously reflected in our account on our departure. We would definitely hope to stay here again on any subsequent visit to Stratford, of which we have already made several, and intend many more.

Mattress could have been a bit softer, but that's just nitpicking. This has nothing to do with the Townhouse, but make sure to make eating plans early, not too many restaurants open after 8 or 9 pm, thank goodness for Tesco Express on Bridge Street.

Room was facing where William Shakespeare went to school, can't get any better. Joey went above and beyond and was an excellent host. Continental breakfast was complimentary due to booking through Booking.com. There were great choices, tasted great and I was given the choice of purchasing a hot breakfast. Didn't need it, continental breakfast was enough. Location was excellent, everything necessary was within 5 to 10 minute walk.

Grouting on Bathroom tiles in shower could do with a bit of a good scrub or regroup. But bathroom itself eas clean and lovely and warm. Tap was working but the top it fell off .only very small detail but it makes an impression

We stayed while the Christmas Market was on in Stratford so parking was a problem

I've stayed at this hotel many times. It's warm, welcoming and has an individual style. The rooms are comfortable with many interesting features.

There’s no onsite car parking. However the Windsor Street multi-storey is only a 5 minute walk away and seems secure- it is locked at night between 10pm and 8am. Costs around £13 for 24 hours. Limited vegan choices in the restaurant but a decent breakfast included. No Marmite!

Beautiful old house with wonderful character features. Our room was super stylish, and comfortable. Lovely bath. The location is great for the theatre and the centre of Stratford. All the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Nothing really. The stairs are a bit steep but it’s an old building so it’s to be expected.
