How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

My bedroom was very nice but too hot and humid.
Wonderful location with a very nice restaurant serving great food and a wonderful bar serving local beers and Whisky. The sister eatery next door is the Ludlow Kitchen which serves up a great breakfast and lunch. All the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was not included and in a separate building but did not open until 8:00am. This is too late for a business or leisure traveler.
Our room on the ground floor was very spacious and we liked the vaulted beamed ceiling. Food in the restaurant was very good.

Nothing to complain about.
Room was so spacious. Very comfortable King bed. Close to a great walk just over the road. Quiet at night. Lovely toiletries.

Beautiful high ceiling rooms. Light and airy. Quality furniture and fantastic breakfast in the sister cafe ‘The Ludlow Kitchen’

Everything was great so no complaints.
We don't eat breakfast so can't comment, although we did have lunch at the sister cafe which was excellent.

Cant think of anything - maybe a few more biscuits!
Everything worked ! Shower good , tea and coffee, all we needed for a stop off on a long journey. Comfy bed , and we enjoyed the chance to explore the farm shop the following morning.

Cafe breakfast - good but could have been even better with tweaks - e.g. margarine used on breakfast sandwiches one staff member not very friendly or engaging. Dinner in the restaurant very tasty well presented but tiny portions - not good value for money.
The room was tastefully furnished, very spacious and comfortable with all the resources needed. Breakfast in the on site cafe was nice. Excellent facilities on site - lovely farm shop, cafe and takeaway and children's play area. Excellent staff in the hotel and restaurant. Overall a very good stay and would return.

We loved everything about our stay at the Clive Arms. We shared a twin room which was really lovely and really big. We loved the fact that you went next door for breakfast. The breakfast menu was also very reasonably priced.

Nothing really although it’s 3 miles from Ludlow so you have to drive or use a taxi at night for evening restaurants if the Clive Arms restaurant isn’t open
Large and comfortable room. Very good decor. Large and modern bathroom. Coffee, tea, water and biscuits in room all excellent quality. Restaurant wasn’t open so didn’t use but bar very good. Next door to farm shop and it’s excellent restaurant for breakfast.

The duvet was fibre filled and the pillows rather hard. The restaurant was closed during our stay
Our room was large, tastefully decorated and clean. A good selection of very high quality toiletries are provided. The location of The Clive Arms is perfect for Ludlow and the Shropshire hills

The rooms probably need re decorating if they want a larger payment. Beginning to become tired. It does not stop me staying at the moment.

Nothing. This time I stayed in a very comfortable room with plenty of space. I eat at the cafe and enjoy the services on site. I choose not to stay anywhere else.
I stay regularly on route to family. As a single traveller I feel very safe staying here and I am used to the facilities. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. The hotel has matched my dates and been flexible to match my needs. Thank you.

I wish the breakfast was included in the room price. The service for breakfast was a little slow.
The food was delicious and amazing. Dinner was very nice salmon fillet and lobster tart.
