How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. It was a great location to stop over the night before an early morning flight. Only about 6 or 7 mins from the East Midlands Airport

Rooms are dated but you get what you pay for and it was very good value for money.
Such kind staff. Clean and warm. Comfortable bed. Shower was great. Excellent value for money.

Little old fashioned but everything I needed and a loads of tea in the room 👍
Great value for money. A friendly welcome by a lovely girl behind the bar. It delivered what it said on the tin. A very good value G&T.

The fire escape entry and exit is an accident waiting to happen. Especially the last step it nearly caught me out as the ground is very uneven.

the shower in my room was not the best i couldn't get the water to get hot enough it was warm and the head was leaky
Staff was Every Friendly and was always welcome to chat if you travel alone quite nice atmosphere over fun and decently priced

Shower, you have to turn the water on in a special way (only a quarter of a turn) so it’s warm. Shower is actually good when you know how to work it. Took me 2 days to figure it out. Bed and room smells a bit damp and fusty.
Good location, easy check in, quiet, good heating in room. Small kitchen for microwave meals etc.

There is no other way of saying that than the hotel is dated and could really use a refresh. You can see it everywhere around, from old carped to the shower heating system. TIP: Be careful with the single valve shower - the water is scalding hot when it flows slow and the reaction from valve adjusting to water temperature change takes a moment.
There is few things I really liked in this property. The staff, both owner and the employees, are top notch. This is real local spot for local people by local people. This is family (not corporation) owned hotel and pub who hires local students, this is something to be commended and really appreciated. The staff of the hotel has been professional, very friendly and enthusiastic. When I have had an issue, this has been addressed immediately and up to satisfaction. The staff paid a good attention to make sure that the room is tidy which would be way more easy if it was all new.

It was very cold in the room. We could not find the switch for the fire on the wall, luckily the owner was on the premises and came up to show us. The switch was situated on the bottom of the fire, out of sight. Should be some instructions on the use of fire.

As with many accommodation sites these days there was no storage for clothing etc apart from 4 clothes hangers. Good job we were only staying one night as we were 'living out of our bags'.
A good location for us as we were going to a gig a few miles away. Not far from East Midlands airport iy you want somewhere near but not at the airport.

Bathroom needed a bit of redecoration - was fine but a little basic. Bed was comfortable but not in first flush of youth.
Made very welcome. Room was spacious, generous tea and coffee facilities. Great location in centre of Kegworth and lots of cushions and bedding
