The inn/hotel is in the little village of Damerham which is about three miles from Fordingbridge. We had no trouble finding it and parked in the large parking area. I had booked one of the cheaper rooms because we just needed a place to crash for the night, but our room was quite spacious and the bathroom had a really good shower - excellent pressure and no leaks to worry about. Breakfast was very nice and larger than I was expecting (the full English with two eggs almost beat me) and the staff were attentive and very helpful. My wife really liked it here (always a major plus) and we will no doubt be staying here again when we are in the area. Unfortunately, we had dismal rainy weather during our stay, but stayed cosy and still appreciated the lovely setting. We didn't have our dogs with us this time around but apparently the rooms are all dog-friendly (another major plus).

The pub is a bit tired around the edges and this was reflected across the building. It was generally quite cold unless you managed to snag a seat by the fire. Notwithstanding this, our rooms were clean and comfortable

The food offering was outstanding. It has a nepalese gurka menu and the food was delicious. The breakfast was also very good. Staff were fantastic

The radiator in the bathroom did not work, it was broken, I think this should have been checked before letting, as a very cold day, too and it was not busy, but did try to repair but needed a plumber, hence bought us another cover for bed, very obliging.

Friendly, comfortable, and good menu for lunch/evening meal, do not have to go out looking for restaurants etc

    Bathroom needs a refresh.

We stayed at The Compasses for a 60th birthday party celebration. It was an ideal venue. Our room number 6, was a fair size, very clean and it had a very comfortable bed. Also tea and coffee facilities & biscuits. There was a hairdryer and shampoo, conditioner and shower gel for us to use. I would say the bathroom needs a refresh although the shower was piping hot and plenty of water pressure. All the staff were happy and very attentive, the food was excellent both in the evening and at breakfast. Service was slow but we didn’t mind that as we were catching up with friends. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we would return.

Just minor things The shower /bathroom could do with an overhaul and regrout . The village is a few miles from fordingbridge so need a car . Not really anywhere to go for a long walk . Overall though we had a great relaxing stay and the place was very good value for money .

All the Staff were very welcoming ,helpful and friendly. Food was great especially the Nepalese dinner we had one night. Comfortable room and very dog friendly which is always a bonus for us when travelling . (Plus the field to the side was handy for dog walking). We really enjoyed our stay .
