Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room was already a bit used, generally not the cleanest (bath especially). The "pod"-Bathroom-Concept (so no solid, separate room but a box in the room) was not in our favor, especially as you cannot close the sliding door completely and there is a huge gap to look (and hear) trough. Also the Window in this Bathroom-Pod is very annoying when to go to the bathroom at night you brighten up the whole room. Highlight is the toilet-flush literally next to the top of the bed to wake up everyone who is not already awake due to the light
The Location is ok, underground station within 5 min. walkway, several bus stations, quickly at Liverpool Station for STN-Express, plenty of Restaurants nearby. Price for the room was ok for what you get. Bed was big, the interior decent, the size of the room was very good. We didn't consume anything at the hotel, so no comment to this.

United StatesCheck in process was a little odd. There wasn't a "real" check in desk, but rather an open area of the restaurant. We arrived early and were able to get some food while waiting for our room to be ready.
Eclectic vibes and cool room decor! We loved the layout and look of the room, and the bed was super comfortable. I love that this hotel is practicing sustainability!

NetherlandsThe door to the bathroom didn't quite close nicely, because one of the hinges were loose. Also the drainage of the shower cabin did not drain fast enough, making a water bath in the process.
The staff was great, and the room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. All the essentials needed for a comfortable sleep were there.

SwitzerlandThe room has a bit less storage space, as they are more likely to focus on design than functionality. The rooms were a bit dusty. A little more attention could be paid to this.
It is a classic city hotel. Means the rooms are a bit smaller. When booking, you should make sure that there are rooms without windows. We didn't think that was bad, because you're only there to sleep anyway. In the hallway there is coffee and tea for free. The beds were incredibly comfortable! Breakfast was also very good.

CroatiaIn our room bathroom slide doors did not work properly and we could not close it. The stuff offerd us smaller rooms which were too small for three people. We refused, they gave us free drinks and that is it. The girl said something obout refound but later no one said anything about it and the doors in general.
It was really clean and tidy, everything from sheets to bathroom. There is a coffie machine on the floor that can be used anytime. I liked the ambinet. Stuff of the hotel was really nice.

United StatesHad to request a heater. Room was chilly. Only 2 sockets in the room. An odd light/lighted wire stayed on near the ceiling until staff reset the lights to fix frozen television.
Friendly, polite, accommodating staff. Provided heater and extra towels as soon as we requested. Comfortable bed. Very clean rooms. Restaurant and bar open late. Secure access to rooms, as well as hotel after hours. Close to a lot of restaurants, bars/pubs, markets, convenience stores, and the underground (5 minutes). Only a 20 minute walk to the Tower of London. For chocolate lovers, Dark Sugars is just a 15 minute walk down Brick Lane. Yum!

United StatesSpace in room not utilized to full potential. Some hairs in the bed at check-in. Breakfast is low effort: cafeteria style pre-staged dry, over oily eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. Park located across the road populated with single adult men at all hours, not the hotels fault but it is part of location and worth mentioning to those who intend to be out late as we were.
For London, in this price range, it’s a decent hotel for a 1-2 night stay. A short ride to most sites of interest. Room was quiet. Staff were nice.

United KingdomCould have done with better lighting and more sockets in the room. Hearing was by a/c only but warm once worked out how to use it. Could have done with some instructions
We wanted to be the tower bridge side of London so for us location was idea. But if you want shopping on Oxford street then this is not the place. The room was quirky but due to the nature of the pod design for the bed and bathroom and all the electrics being attached to that not enough sockets in the room or near the mirrors. But we loved the quirky bits of the room and the breakfast was amazing
