There is no way to improve this experience, there was literally nothing to dislike.

Our bed was huge but we felt the mattress had seen better days and is possibly due for replacement. A little firmer than we’re used to, it took us a couple of nights to get used to it. I’m being picky though as it did not detract from our stay.

The Cornmill was beautifully kept and furnished. The owners obviously care and work very hard on creating the right look and ambience for their property. Love how they’ve kept the original features of the mill and enjoy showing them off to their visitors. The breakfast was exceptional and delicious. Our bedroom and en-suite were decorated and furnished to a very high standard - loved the paint colour on the walls and the vintage furniture.

Televisions not working at time of our stay, problem was area transmitter out of order, nothing the owners could do about this as it was obviously out of their control, but we did still have wi fi so we were able to watch a film at night on netflix.

Double bed in room 5 a little on the small side.

Chris and Karen were very welcoming and nothing seemed too much trouble. Property clean and tidy with a good selection of complimentary tea, coffee and water. Tasty breakfast cooked to order with a selection of fruit, cereal and juices also on offer. Property within walking distance of local shops, pubs and restaurants.

Our only complaint was the very thick winter duvet, we were very hot and had to resort to using just the duvet cover.

An excellent location in a beautiful old mill, exceptionally well cared for and well presented by obviously proud owners. A lovely breakfast, the hosts had planned to accommodate covid regulations perfectly. We felt very well looked after.

Nothing really, the bed was a tad small. We could have swapped with our son to be fair and was advised to do so by the owners.

A lovely welcome from the owners, with great advice on where to eat locally and tips ie use the park and ride for Whitby. The breakfast was tasty and huge portions. There’s a pretty courtyard to sit in, which we did with a few beers. The walk into kirkbymoorside was about 10-15 minutes for pubs. Food at the George and Dragon and the Kings Head was quality pub food in friendly welcoming pubs. For more variety of food and pubs you’d need to drive about 10 mins. We didn’t as only stayed for 2 nights.
