How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Wonderful property. Very comfortable and clean. Stayed for a long weekend whilst visiting family. Lovely welcome basket on arrival. A lovely touch. A real home from home. Would stay again.

The weather on the first and last day. The cottage was great, as was the location. The hosts checked in on us but were ot intrusive, just keen to let us know that they were available if we had any questions or needs.
There was a welcome box on arrival which more than surpassed our basic needs. Not only did it contain milk, bread and butter but also homebaked scones, homemade jam and marmalade and other luxuries. The cottage was nicely furnished and all needs catered for. There was a well-presented information book with details of local places, menus and details about the property.

Everything exceeded our expectations.
The hosts were most welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed during our study. Place was absolutely spotless. Accommodation is very comfortable and is fully equipped with all amenities.

We arrived to find a welcome hamper with homemade preserves, cookies, welshcakes and scones. Even a birthday cake for my daughters birthday. Fully equipped kitchen, there was nothing missing and exactly everything needed to cook a full meal from scratch, storage, condiments juice and welsh products. A lovely touch! Food recycling available which was great, bathroom was perfect, beds were comfortable and clean as was the rest of the property. Garden is well kept with a range of gorgeous trees, shrubs and flower bushes. Very easy to get to Folly Farm and Heatherton for family days out and just a short 25 min drive to St Davids.

It was a little awkward to park on the drive,as had to reverse in at an angle.Luckily it wasn’t a busy road.we could have done with a bit more powerful shower.

Wi-fi signal downstairs was excellent but not so good in upstairs bedroom. Other than that, perfect!
Best welcome pack ever. Friendly and helpful hosts. Cottage had character and was very well equipped - excellent shower and lovely small conservatory. Very nice outside areas and off road parking for 2 cars. Conveniently placed for the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast and coastal path. Less than 30 minute drive to ferry for the very special Skomer Island where puffins were amazing and island was ablaze with carpets of bluebells, red campion and other wild flowers. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay.

Self catering - the welcome pack was exceptional. The hosts Gaynor and Med made us feel at home and went over and above with a special treat for my birthday - thank you, delicious! The space in the cottage is great, a family or two couples can stay in spacious, clean comfort with lovely touches to make your stay complete. As parkrun participants we were delighted that not only is Haverfordwest parkrun about a mile away but our host is a parkrunner too.

The Cottage was immaculately clean and very homely and welcoming. The hamper of goodies was a lovely treat and very much appreciated after the long drive and late arrival. Gaynor and Med came to greet us on our first evening. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed for the stay. Location was great with easy access to several nearby beautiful beaches in Pembrokeshire.

The property was so well equipped, immaculately clean and comfortable. It’s location was perfect for visiting coastal beaches and villages. The main centre of town was only 10 minutes away so it was easy to access shops and fuel. The garden was a lovely addition to this comfy cottage. Had it not been for the rain we could have dined alfresco. I would certainly recommend this accommodation

Early in arrival, homeowner came and say welcoming to us, was very friendly. They made the table in the kitchen with some different kind of bread , wine, beer , . Put some milk ,chees and butter in the fridge, ready for their guests in arrival. Ki . Everything was very good. Living room and bed room was very clean, and designed to we feel comfortable and are in our home.

The Cottage is the cleanest loveliest house I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. I wish it was mine!! Lovely area to visit and the people are so friendly. Lovely welcome basket on arrival and the owners were very welcoming. Would definitely recommend.
