Perfect location for me, friendly, helpful staff. Lovely little balcony outside the room if only the rain had stopped and allowed me to sit outside.

Perhaps a bit small, that's all. Rather a wait at check in because of a delivery, but wasn't in a hurry .

Comfy bed, quiet room. A bit different; has a balcony with table and 2 chairs - would be nice in warm weather. Staff very good and good breakfast.

Hadn't realized there was no lift, but the double handrails worked very good..

A very authentic pub with a couple of rooms, nicely situated and with enough parking space. Very friendly staff, helpful and attentive. A cosy room (#1) with nice beams, no window to open, but very clean. Love meal.

Very small room but we weren’t expecting it to be bigger. Small shower room with nowhere to hang towels. Noisy plumbing. There was some sort of fire safety light on the ceiling so the room was never dark. Not good if need a dark room to be able to sleep.

Comfortable bed and nicely decorated room. Plenty of room in the car park. Friendly staff. Dog friendly.

The room was quite dusty, wouldn't of taken much to have used a hygienic spray to wipe all the surfaces. The main light lamp shade had dust and spider webs on. Found the automatic light near the door in the room a bit bright and annoying, as lit up the whole room when got up to use the Toilet during the night,so woke us up. Minor issues that can be sorted easily.

Breakfast was good and in with the price of the room, good value. Stayed for our evening meal and the staff were very friendly. Bed was comfy and shower worked well.

The only (tiny) downside was the noise from the bar (which we expected and were prewarned about) - but it stopped at 2330 promptly and we got a great night's sleep.

Friendly staff, lovely clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast- thank you for accommodating my weird request for overdone eggs - they were perfect! Great parking, great location. Quiet local area. The pub downstairs is lovely too.

Room quite small. Good sized TV in the room - had many channels but, unfortunately, not the one channel we wanted to use BBC1. We did report this in the morning, so hopefully it will be re-tuned for future guests. My breakfast choice of a bacon sandwich wasn't a good choice - streaky bacon, so rather fatty, not much of it, and the bread was rather limp - it didn’t look very inviting! My husband had the full English and that was fine.

The room was cosy and comfortable. Shower worked well. Tea and coffee available in room. The room (room 3) had a good sized balcony, which would be good to use in warmer weather.

The evening meal was a disappointment. I had mussels that were so over cooked they had shriveled to micro size. I suspect they came out of a vac pack. Shame because everything else was good.

Parking was easy. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The cooked to order breakfast was very good indeed.

The bathroom whilst OK could do with a refurb - bit of a squeeze getting in and out of the shower cubicle and the grouting needed attention. As seems to be more common with hotels in general these days housekeeping has been cut back - probably a legacy of Brexit/Covid. Beds were not remade during our 3 night stay, and dust in cupboards and a few cobwebs were spotted around the building, but it is an old building. The kitchen was rather slow.

The location is on the edge of the Peak District and is close to Sheffield. The staff were excellent and were very friendly. The hotel is an old building with character. It had plenty of parking, good wifi, and was very dog friendly. The cooked breakfasts were very good as were the meals we had in the evenings. Tea and coffee facilities provided in the room were appreciated.

The lighting could have been better in the bathroom and there was a security light in the bedroom itself over by the door that went off it you moved anywhere vaguely near it.

This was fantastic value for money and in a great location. The breakfast was good too and the staff friendly and helpful.

The bathroom could do with a bit of TLC. The bed and especially the pillows were a little uncomfortable

The bar area was very nice, and we loved the little rooms which gave you some privacy if you wanted it. The location is great as it's close enough to the city 20mins away and the peak district.
