Food service should have been better- evening meal mains brought out before starters mains seemed to have been then just kept warm which didnt do the Yorkshire's and Roasties any favours- both very dry and overcooked. Breakfast started with single member of staff who seemed overwhelmed - both orange and apple juice jugs empty, and orders taken at random. Later joined by a colleague and things went a lot more smoothly.

Large comfortable rooms at the back of a busy pub. Very friendly staff. Despite how busy the pub was we got a great nights sleep. Food was (mainly) excellent.

The things we found difficult were those you can't do anything about! We are elderly, so found the stairs a bit of a challenge. The car park is adequate but access is quite tricky if there are cars parked opposite. But really, as an experience, there was nothing to complain about.

We picked the DD off the internet - and it was a find! Beautiful old pub, gorgeous location. The evening meal was one of the best we have had. Our (upgraded) room was still quite small, but delightfully furnished and very comfortable. And where else would you be left with a carafe of home-made vodka! Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is beautiful. In a picturesque country village that has many duck ponds! Our room looked out over the village green and the church. So clean and tidy. Great interior design. Very relaxing. Food in the gastropub was really good and the staff were fantastic

The breakfast was excellent, A really good choice Our room was lovely , cosy with plenty of storage and a very nice bathroom, Very dog friendly too, The pub had been extended [to a very high standard] since our last visit a few years ago It was very busy all day Sunday but there were plenty of staff who were well organised and attentive so our evening meal came quickly and was delicious. Bathroom had over-bath shower which is not my preference but was manageable. The pub was great busy and buzzing, which did not affect me at all, I loved it, but if you like to go to bed early the room i had may have been a bit noisy for some folk.

Nice room was comfortable and had a lovely view of the village green and duck pond. Food was excellent, a small menu where i suspect just ablaut everything was cooked from fresh, and some interesting specials.

Had paid top money for the room booked thinking only 2 rooms left when I got there plenty of rooms empty should have waited would have been less than half price and no breakfast included in the price.

The breakfast had a good varied menu and was well presented poached egg and spinach on a thick piece of toast was a good breakfast could have had cereal if you wish orange juice and tea and coffee all available

The shower was an over-bath type. It was hard to get into the bath because of a wide tiled edging & there were no wall mounted or bath mounted handles to assist or prevent falls. The shower did not have a wall mounted alternative to the huge overhead shower head.

Was a tad chilly. Difficult to heat such a large room with two small radiators given the freezing weather. Later learned that the pub would have supplied an extra heater if asked.
