Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere is no restaurant on site now, but the local options for dining offer great alternatives. And breakfast from the bakery/coffee shop was amazing.
Stayed here pre-COVID and loved the place. First time back here since, and though things have changed and it is now operating as a B&B, so pleased to see that the quality is still there.

United KingdomCan’t think of anything negative , good cafe in dial house , but only had bread / pastries for breakfast but 10 pound allowance per person per day was good and I think menu changed for lunch with better choices.
We loved the days of the raj room . Very colonial. Very comfortable beds , good large shower with seat

United KingdomIf I was nit picking our little boys cot didn’t have a blanket but instead had towels folded up inside, we arrived too late to message management but it wasn’t a big issue and didn’t take away from how great our experience was
We stayed in the Natural History room with our little boy and we loved it. Such a quirky enterance and beautiful decorations, our toddler enjoyed looking at all of the shells. There was fab communication prior to our arrival and check in was quick and painless. Would definitely stay again!

United KingdomThe breakfast is served in the bakery just on the groud floor. So the choice is limited to coffee and pastries.
This is a hotel with several rooms designed in individual style. We got the 'Natural History' room which had spacious bathroom, comfy bed, and even a roof patio! We especially liked how big and clear the bed was and how carefully was designed the room. There were no sounds from other rooms so the noise is isolated and you can get a calm night to rest. It is located in the center of small town just on the main square. Please note the car park is on the public grounds - either in front of the hotel building (but up to 90 mins or from 6 pm till 8 am overnight) or on a free well-lit parking in 3 mins around the corner. In pracrice this was more convenient that it sounds :) This is unmanned hotel; all the support was received from the staff by SMS, messages (we did not use phone). No issues there, thanks to the hotel management team. Would recomment this place.

United KingdomThe Dial House is located in a lovely market town with everything you need locally. The individually decorated boutique room, Africa, was superb and very comfortable and the Dial House team, especially Lauren was excellent. This is not your usual B&B with the Dial house offering a more flexible approach to the breakfast option which I have not experienced before. However, after a call with Lauren, I was looking forward to my visit. This is definitely a place that I would visit again as I would like to discover what the other boutique rooms are like!

United KingdomThe room could’ve been warmer during our NYE stay. Check in 3, heating off 4-6. There was a plug in radiator but struggled to heat a large room.
Great communication and easy check in. Loved the Italian Palace room. Great bed, shower and bath. Awesome breakfast from Bread Source. Nice touches like a record player.

United KingdomBreakfast was in the bakery part and was selection of cold pastries and breads. Not very exciting, compared to an expected full English cooked breakfast. The £220 nightly rate is expensive for what you get and we had to pay an additional £20 for having a dog in the room. We didn’t see any staff so could not judge what they were like.
Rooms were great. We had Africa with the bath at the bottom of the bed. Plenty of parking in the market square and good restaurants nearby.

United KingdomThe hotel is unmanned. Arrival was chaotic. We were given a code to open the front door but it didn't work. We had to call out the owner who arrived quickly and let us in but the problem persisted throughout our 2 night stay. There is no restaurant in the hotel. There is a good pub across the square for evening meal (closed Monday) cooked breakfast is not available but coffee and pastries up to a £10 limit are provided by the bread shop which now occupies the ground floor of the hotel.
Quirky room decor. Nice location in an attractive town.
