The grime round the bathroom taps, plug hole and overflow in the sink. It really is detail like this which matters to me. The strong smell of paint. Otherwise, it would have scored a 10.

Lovely, convenient location. The décor in the spacious room is very tasteful. The staff are very accommodating, polite and cheerful. The breakfast is superb, with plenty of choice.

The Falcon Inn was very welcoming and accommodation was warm, spacious, well-appointed and very comfortable. The inn provided hearty local fare, which was much needed on a stormy November evening.

The beds were a little too soft for us, but that's just our preference. Room had been recently painted as the smell of paint was still quite strong.

Staff were helpful and efficient, locals friendly. Due to a mix up in dinner bookings our table wasn't available at the time we wanted and the only available time was late - the staff opened a room upstairs so we could eat when we'd booked to, and assigned a staff member to make the trip upstairs regularly to look after us. Things can go wrong, it's how they're dealt with that tells you what kind of a place it is and this was a great example of customer service. I've found my new favourite place to stay when I'm at Donington.

Always a high standard with all you need, and the big bonus they are all a friendly team. Prepared to be flexible too, and the food is brilliant. If you are flying out from East Midlands Airport don't consider anywhere else 😀, but also spend a week there as great walking locally too

Bathroom needs updating, maybe a walk in shower instead of a bath. The little extras in the bathroom were much appreciated and made up for the bathroom needing some TLC.

The rooms were very comfortable , lots of little extras, the staff in the Falcon pub were so welcoming & friendly. Evening meal and breakfasts were all hot and tasty . Two in our party are gluten free and catered for very well. The accomadation was set around a courtyard, very characterful! The surrounding village was pleasant to walk around.

Directions to Falcon could be improved

Squashier pillows!

Location, staff, food, decor, comfort and warm welcome. We were late in on Sunday evening and the property had arranged us to have a pre ordered meal, ready for our arrival. Fresh milk was given to us in dinky little bottles for our tea and coffees in our room . Room was delightful and had a wee jar or wrapped chocolate in case of a need for a sweet treat along with the usual coffee, tea and hot chocolate was a selection of plain and chocolate biscuits. Crisp white linen , very comfortable beds and ample towels and toiletries. Very clean and the addition of a fan helpful. What was extra special was the message from staff at the main building that we had got in okay to the rooms in the Mews and if all was satisfactory. Indeed it was with a very comfortable sleep with no disturbance of any kind.

It was a pleasure to stay here. Without exception all the staff were friendly and helpful, The room was spacious and comfortable. Dinner was very good and the breakfast perfect- generous and beautifully presented. The 'short order' chef was fully visible in the kitchen and we could see him as he prepared the individual dishes. The selection was wide. Would certainly return if we are up this way.
