Booked a the largest room short of a suite and seemed to be given the smallest room. Paid extra for nothing.

I love this hotel but I have to admit that on the night we stayed it was a little cold in the lounges and restaurant. A consequence of the very cold weather throughout Britain 1/2 Dec - our room was warm and cosy though.

Location is perfect for the town and the surrounding countryside. The historic building is beautiful both from the inside and out. The hotel was already decorated for the Christmas season, looking wonderful and very tasteful. The staff are young, friendly and enthusiastic. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel both being very good. The room we stayed in was well decorated and clean, with its quirky slanted floor.

Bit more storage space in room needed. Fewer emails encouraging me to book for dinner.

Decor, ambience, uneven floors, abundance interesting and unusual pictures, excellent skills and service of your staff.

The food in the restaurant was very bland and at times it was apparent there was a lack of staff which affected service and table clearing.

A beautiful hotel full of charm but lovingly decorated with a cosy feel. Our room was beautiful with high ceilings and high quality decor. The modern bathroom was excellent.

My only complaint was the complicated TV operation sadly access to streaming services is not free. but you can sign in with your home Netflix or Amazon Prime accounts. Could do with a couple of USB ports.

Beautiful public areas, extensive coffee lounge and resident's lounge for passing the time relaxing on big comfy sofas or reading or catching up with friends. Well appointed, clean large bedrooms and confy beds. Fast internet wifi. The building is very old, quaint.and unique (Tudor, built in the era of Queen Mary I and Elizabeth ) Floors are sloped like a galley ship so takes sime time to get your balance and sea legs 🤣 A great base for exploring the beautiful town and Herefordshire countryside

The log fires were not kept alight . We were hoping to spend the evening sitting by the fire, but both nights they had been allowed to go out in the bar and lobby.

Just a detail, but our room (20) had the kitchen extractor fan right outside our window, which made a deep, low-level noise from early morning until about 9 pm. We could have done without this.

We have been to the hotel before and knew what to expect. In some ways things had even improved eg) the evening meals were much better than last time we stayed, when we were a little disappointed….better menu, better cooked. This time we had a ‘superior’ room which was lovely (with one minor caveat, see below)…..spacious, well-equipped and very clean. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is uplifting and the staff are excellent. The building itself is a wonder and we can enjoy just sitting in the lounge areas with a drink or coffee…..watching the world go by. Also, I have to recommend the Ledbury Ales beers, which I don’t think were available last time we stayed : excellent, especially the Dark!

Restaurant was closed when we arrived at lunchtime as staff had gone home (guess it’s a sign of the times though within hospitality). Luckily, we found the excellent Prince of Wales pub - great food and brilliant range of ciders, real ales and spirits.

Pretty much everything. Loved our room in the old part of the building with sloping floor and beams (I’d consider changing the modern wardrobe and bedside tables though!). Staff helpful especially the housekeeping ladies!
