Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomThe location was perfect. We loved the traditional and quirky features of the original part of the hotel. All the staff were amazing, especially the waitresses at breakfast. Breakfast was plentiful and superb! Would recommend.

United KingdomOur first room we were offered the window was broken however without any fuss we were upgraded to a Deluxe room. The most inconvenient aspect of our stay was the lift was not operating! For this type of property a lift is essential. Car parking was not always available and the car park access is very tight.
The location of the Hotel. Also the Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast is very good.

Beautiful period building centrally located with friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed a nice meal in the restaurant.

United KingdomWe asked to change rms as with a group of friends we all booked kings deluxe rms and ours out of the 3 did not reach the same standard as our friends. We paid an extra £10 for an upgrade. Happy with the next rm. Not happy that we had to pay the extra. Again staff were lovely. Continental breakfast needs attention as no cold meats or cheese etc just cereal and danishes. Evening meal and cooked breakfast was lovely.
Staff are the feathers best asset. From beginning to end.

United KingdomMy wife has MS and we were expecting a lift up to our room, but itwas out of use, thankfully she is not wheelchair bound and can walk short distances but stairs are difficult and a few months ago our room would have been impossible to reach.
The room we stayed in, the dining, the staff who were very helpfull and the the general ambiance and comfort.

United KingdomAs the hotel was opened in 16 hundreds you would expect the uneven floors but I would request a more modern room as our room 212 was in the older part and I was concerned about falling on the slopping floor. Also the bathroom door looked quite scruffy as needed painting.

United KingdomBedroom size was small which is why I couldn’t recommend it as a romantic place to stay, decor starting to look a little shabby (throw on bed), service was a little slow in breakfast room but that is because there wasn’t many staff not because of a problem with the staff - they were excellent.
Excellent location, old world charm, lovely staff, great choice at breakfast, parking available, excellent hospitality tray (great choice of tea and coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits replenished each day, still and sparkling water available in fridge), iron/ironing board, safe, great sized bathroom.

United KingdomIt didn’t warrant a 4 star rating , tired interior in bedrooms & corridors , dull decor eg grey functional doors to bedrooms, no water provided in room and no shampoo & conditioner provided.No telephone in bedroom to contact reception to provide above. No mirror with socket and chair in convenient position to style hair all basics which should go without saying for a four star property.

United KingdomTo get to the room it was a ludicrous walk. Our room was situated above shops next door. We had to go up stairs, then downstairs then up more stairs. It really was hard to find and a very long journey for someone with unsteady mobility.
