For me it was perfect.

As I have stayed many times and am a lone traveller this suits me perfectly. Although I miss the breakfast I quite understand the reason's why. Hopefully it will return some day.

Returning the key to the lock box on departure, proved too difficult. I had to re-enter the hotel and leave the key in the room door (as suggested in the hotel's joining email.

Room had a Velux skylight which looked out over the Forth. The location was very good. The lock box check-in worked really well.

The WiFi had poor signal and some facilities were damaged such as the clothing rack, shower door and some tiles in the bathroom.

The room was very small. Absolute minimum toiletries and amenities supplied - facilities not as described in this respect. Not great value for money - could have done better elsewhere in North Berwick.

Too warm (even though I turned room radiator off). Did open window but noise of traffic meant I had to close it at night. Stairs to rooms wouldnt be easy for some - and cannt imagine how manageable would be with a case (i only had a bag but still woeries about hitting a mirror)

For price of 107 pound i thought a little more would have been offered, as when booking the room i thought breakfast would have been included, and as it said reception is closed due to staff shortage i thought that mabey a menu would have been given in too the room for a small breakfast mabey. We stayed in Bellshill at a lovley bnb room was a little bigger for 3quarters of that price with breakfast included. I understand that everywhere is going to be different but i expected just a bit more for the price. The code for the lockbox was wrong and i understand this was fixed straight away but these small things cause myself and my partner a bit of destress and anxiety thinking we may have been locked out and no one was about to help us. A more relaxed arrival would have been better for us after travelling from dundee, it was a long drive. There was an eggy smell coming from the bathroom at one point on the night we stayed. Just for a brief 5 minutes then it went away, was a bit unpleasant.

I was sure that I chose a room with a sea view, but ended up with the garden view instead (perhaps there is some disclaimer which states that a view isn’t guaranteed, and possibly my own fault for not reading the fine print.) The water pressure in the shower was disappointing, but I imagine that the plumbing system is quite old (I live in the U.K., own property here, and therefore accustomed to the problems of old plumbing which would be difficult to replace.) It would have been nice to have a mini-fridge in the room, given that breakfast was cancelled- but they wrote in advance they had a staff crisis the weekend we arrived (and therefore it wasn’t planned.)

The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is easy to find, and within a 10 minute walk of North Berwick station- all the locals seem to know it, which speaks to having a good reputation. It was very quiet for both nights, which was a busy weekend during the Festival period. The lone staffperson (or manager) on-site was friendly.

missed my breakfast but it was a great problem.

I was met by the lovely cleaning lady who just happened to be coming out of the hotel when I arrived. I explained this was my first time away without my husband who had just been taken into a care home. She kindly showed me how to work the key system as I was a bit nervous but she was great. And as luck would have it just as I was leaving she appeared to start her daily work and gave me such a lovely hug I was quite touched. People can be so kind.

Nothing, room was perfect for the price. Hotel in great location for the train station.

no breakfast available due to staff shortness but cost was refunded when we arrived, so were able to eat breakfast at one of the great cafe's nearby. The room was on the small side but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean, I wished I checked to see if there was a hair drier available or I would have brought mine. Tunnocks tea cake sure did hit the spot on arrival.
