How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location was perfect short walk to seafront The flat was equipped and more. It was welcoming and very homely. Host went above and beyond and this just shows in the property. We really did leave our shoes and worries at the door. Slept very well and the beds where very comfy. Really didn’t want I go home or leave. Flat is well equipped for all your needs and if you forget things. Highly recommend for short and long visits to I’ll be returning for some summer times here

The flat was in a great location and represented excellent value for money. The flat was very clean, well equipped and the beds were comfy. It’s in a quiet location but just a short walk from the town and beach.

There was nothing to dislike.
This property was the nicest we have stayed in for a long time. It was so very well equipped with lots of extras and clear instructions on how to use all appliances along with helpful tips and advice for when staying in the flat.

Parking for another car , altho we managed on road outside close by
Easy contact with owner Allowed in a tiny bit earlier so weren't hanging around Even had supplies of tea/coffee/ milk etc.

This isn’t a “didn’t like”. But a lock on the back gate would of been great as we’ve got dogs
Everything the garden flat had everything you needed, the welcome food basket was an added bonus with milk in the fridge. The beds were very comfortable and clean white sheets that smelt lovely. The garden was really useful as we have dogs. The location was fab just a short walk into town.

Nothing really, this accomodation was top rate and good value.
A comfortable, self contained apartment located in a great location for all of Paignton's attractions. The apartment was thoughtfully furnished with a wide variety of amenities for any family. The beds were also very comfortable. We would definitely look to book here again if we come back. 100% recommend.

Nothing.....just perfect for what we needed,thankyou
We thought the Garden flat was lovely,homely & clean in a great location & great value for money. Family /dog friendly ,felt like home from home. The facilities were great,beds very comfortable,lots of thoughtful touches ,little breakfast treats ,milk in the fridge,even treats for the dog. Thankyou very much we enjoyed our stay so much & would definitely love to stay again 🙂

Home from home had everything you need even a forgotten box which was very useful. Can’t find one bad fault. Clean tidy would definitely recommend ideal for location. Was travelling with my husband and mum perfect location also parking which was a god send.

Nothing, all was spot on.
Very pleased, everything was thought of & provided. Host was lovely, Comfy beds, lots of lamps, tea, coffee, even fresh milk in the fridge. Plenty of appliance’s, and mugs, glasses etc. 5/10 mins stroll to sea front & town. Walking distance to train/bus station. Couldn’t fault it at all!
