The staff were amazing. The man at the reception (forgotten his name unfortunately!) went above and beyond for us. We travelled for NYE and left at home a pair of shoes and a charger - to which he helped us with! Made our night.

Hotel had messed up the booking. They sent us to another hotel but it was not good at all and also available on Bookings for much less than we had paid for our original hotel (they had already taken payment). Too many bad things to say about the replacement hotel.... My score applies to the replacement as we could not stay at the hotel we booked.

Staff at George Wright were helpful and pleasant. Receptionist got us a room at another hotel and drove us there.

The night receptionist was asleep. I needed to collect my food from deliveroo. It was 2.55am No one on reception. Rang hotel number x3 no answer. Pressed fire alarm to get receptions attention. He was sleeping and I saw him come out of the room next to mine, half dressed with a women. He asked if I had pressed the alarm. I said yes......! He asked me why and I told him that deliveroo had left my food outside the hotel door but I could not open the door as it was locked. He said "You should be sleeping at this time!!!!!!" Reception should be manned 24 hrs all especially when you have council tenants living there. Does the management allow their staff to sleep and still ger paid? Where's the customer service? I will be taking this matter further as I have voice recording of the whole conversation.

Had to ask for room to be serviced. No restaurant facilities particularly hot breakfast. Shower in room above leaking. Building work and general decay. Bed and pillows were awful

Housekeeping did not happen. No hand-towel, no bath-mat, no tea - until I asked - no window, no coat-hangers, no working restaurant - so no breakfast or evening meal. One late afternoon 'housekeeping' seem to have been present (not in the room) - as there was a hoover left in the corridor outside the rooms - flex left as the perfect trip-hazard, plus plugged in - and a dirty towel left on a landing chair for hours. The extractor fan did not work (in toilet/shower area). It seemed that the place was having major works done that had not yet reached the rooms - and it was not yet ready to receive guests. I'm sure one day it will be fine.

The room was a good size, and as warm as you wanted it. The bed was fine. There was car-parking.

The breakfast option was added on to the price I paid yet there was no breakfast available in the morning so slightly disappointed in that.

Really noisy, room was right next to the bar and the speaker kept getting louder and louder throughout the night.

The bed was in comfy and my husband is 6ft 4 sleighs beds don’t work , most of the furniture was cracked or damaged whilst we were their the boiler didn’t work so it was freezing

The quality of the rooms was outstanding and the staff was spot on and very friendly nothing was a problem.

It was not up to a boutique hotel standard. Pillows were of low standard, mattress was the same. No milk in room even though there was a coffee machine, no hairdryer I had to ask at bar and next morning had another guest knocking on the door to use it. Bathroom had a smell to it. Not worth the money.

Mattress was the worst I’ve ever slept on. Bathroom stank of mould and silicone was black. Had a half used toilet roll and room didn’t have any milk or tea. Very basic and dusty

We wished we booked the Friday night too.

We stayed for the night (as came up for the football; Rotherham v Leicester). Only 10 mins walk to the ground so location was perfect. Also had a number of pubs, bars, restaurants etc within walking distance. We managed to park up at the side of the building (they do ask if parking needed when booking). Check in was easy and we were shown to our room. Room was beautiful, very clean, modern and comfortable. After the football, we had a few drinks and food in the beer garden. Beer garden was lovely and food/drinks were very nice. Bed was super comfy and slept very well. We didn't have breakfast but check out was easy too and would recommend.

First impressions, on arrival we were greeted by what can only be described as teenagers in tracksuits. Just really disappointed with the standard of what is called a boutique hotel. Nothing feels boutique. The bathroom had a bad smell of mould, the mattress was paper thin, no milk for a coffee despite providing a coffee machine and loads of dust everywhere. Breakfast isn’t an option for paying overnight guests. Even though on a chalk board outside it says breakfast.

Claims its boutique but it's not really it's just got a silver bed with some tacky plastic buttons on the basic and no option for breakfast another claim there is a restaurant they're not open and the place to seems to be run by a bunch of teenagers I just like to play the music loud, Rotherham it's a sad town with a dead city center and it's gonna take a lot more than this hotel is to rise above what is currently going on with ever stay there again it was a gamble
