Bit dated but great for us.

The location is very quiet, and we had a great sleep with no outside noise. We specifically booked to be between the town centre and princes park and this was perfect . Very easy check in.

The wash hand basin didn’t drain properly which was a real nuisance. Four chunky guides to Liverpool taking up space on the table - there was nowhere else to put them - one would be enough and they are out of date anyway, published pre-pandemic.

The location, the spacious room which included a separate lobby. The original working window shutters. Easy self check-in with good communication about this from the owner.

bathroom was cramped - it wasnt possible to get round the sink due to the shower screen encroaching, & the lighting could have been brighter.

My room was compact but clean & tidy with everything I needed. Great view of the cathedral over the rooftops.

Arrival - check in was till 11. We arrived about 10, door locked. After knocking and ringing for 10 minutes, I checked on the messages and found a code for the key safe on the wall. I had not realised this and could have saved alot of time. Room 1 - fire door to the bathroom a bit noisy and annoying. Kettle did not reach to a plug had to go on the floor. These minor negatives would not stop me going again. The cafe was cold as though there had been a flood as it is in the basement, but nicely decorated.

Free Parking right outside and conveniently placed for the university. With rooms 1 and 8, room 1 is a beautiful large room and room 8 is tiny but great for 1 night. The rooms were clean and had everything you need. Lovely view of the cathedral from my room, the rooms were clean and very comfortable. Didn’t see any staff, but the lady in the cafe was lovely and really helpful.

Paid for breakfast but found that it wasn’t available until 8:30. I need to leave at 7:30 so I feel short changed. Mattress (room 2) was a bit lumpy and needs replacing

Big clean room, nicely decorated in keeping with the age of the property. Close enough to what to the city if you are reasonably fit. I walked to and from lime street station with my bags.

The breakfast and Cafe was really poor which was a shame as the hotel was fine otherwise. If they improved this the hotel would be so much better

The room had plenty of room although a little dated. Shower screen broken, hair drier didn't work. Apart from that the room was clean with a good size bed. Friendly staff and excellent location. Easy to park outside

The shower was not in great condition. Although it was clean and worked, the sealant and doors were worse for wear. The numbers on the key fobs could be clearer as they are very faded.

- wifi did not work! The wifi works fully on the entrance floor (1st floor), less on the 2nd floor and none on the 3rd floor. I believe this is due to having too few routers. As having no UK data, this became a huge problem. I contacted the hotel, but nothing was done about the issue. - even the main road is not the busiest, the trafic noises are very audible. As the house is an old style English house, you can hear the steps of your upstair neighbours. - pillows were too outdated for my neck. For your awareness: no real options for food and drinks in the vicinity. I paid £174/2 nights. I feel that getting 9 square meter room with no wifi, 2-3 km away from the city center was not value for my money. As for comparison, I stayed in newly furbished studio in Manchester city center with state of the art appliances and high speed wifi with £155/2nights.

- clean - warm (which is not to be taken for granted in the UK housing) - location suited me well. It is 2-3 km from the city center which is a nice walk. Bus routes operate nearby.

We were in room 1 which was hidden behind another door, took a bit of searching to find it. Expensive for what is was but that’s a city centre in December.

Didn’t deal with any staff, keys and codes left under instruction and very easy to retrieve. Hotel was in a good location within easy walking distance of plenty of attractions.

(1) Electric shower just about good enough, given nature of building; (2) Breakfast offer could be widened beyond only cooked, e.g., essential cereals, fruit, yogurts; (3) Slightly too cold in café at breakfast time; (4) Wi-Fi connectivity occasionally dropped.

I think being a little more flexible with who comes to the family room. It was me, my sister and her partner. I asked if my partner could stay too as a last minute guest, and my partner could’ve easily of come with me but stayed home because hotel staff said he can’t come, when we didn’t even see a staff member and they could've just said yes lol. But other than that all good.

Nothing. For the price we paid for a city break, i couldn't fault it. I've paid much more elsewhere for a short city break, and didn't get anything close to this! The only downside was the distance to reach certain places, but taxis were easy to get and cheap as well!

The room was perfect for both my girlfriend and daughter. They were visiting Liverpool for the weekend and it was ideal for their short stay. The staff were very helpful and even when I queried some issues with Wi-fi, they addressed them immediately.
