Hotel does really well it’s a hotel with history and it serves that well keeping it in the style that it should have. Very kind staff who showed pride of th rd hotel .?!

The total experience .Well established hotel with features that fit the hotel. Lovely on suite room with Balcony and sea view. Access to the beach and well kept gardens . Helpful pleasant staff who clearly love their job and the hotel. Good linen and towels. All needs met for a guest,

The room was a big disappointment for the money. Very dated and mediocre quality. Torquay and Poole had rooms with similar locations but much cheaper

We found the car parking lacking . When it eased off in the week, the parking spaces were inadequate for many cars and we found enormous cars abutting our car. Half the dishes( all beautifully cooked) and all the specials contained celery, a very common allergen ( second after nuts) thus reducing my choice of dishes considerably. The celery was in the stock , presumably a preparation bought in. There are stock sources available which state on the wrapping no allergens.

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The views from the breakfast and dining areas were beautiful. There was an easy way straight down to the promenade for lovely walks close to the sea.

Parking is a nightmare. Hotel has lost some of its character over the years. 1st came many years ago as a kid & have visited a few times since. Not all the changes are necessarily for the better. Breakfast was so so, somehow not satisfying. Main issue - and not the hotel's fault - is lack of staff.

The view from the hotel is exceptional. The fact you can walk down to the beach is a great bonus. The twin room was a good size, very clean and comfy. Very understated decoration, reasonable selection of tea/coffee in the room. Staff were all very lovely and helpful. Evening meal in the restaurant was good. Bar drinks not too expensive for a hotel.

Perhaps the beer prices could be a little less expensive 🤔

The bar man, pye was very welcoming and willing to chat. The evening meal was very good. Nothing was too much trouble and would stay there again

Booking.com quoted dinner at 19.95 but only a la carte in the evenings and easy to spend a great deal more. Breakfast excellent value but dinner overpriced.

Staff are lovely...well trained and helpful. Wonderful location...views amazing! Steps down to a beautiful quit beach. Excellent breakfast.

VAT added to bill for evening meal made an already fairly expensive meal (chicken supreme) advertised as £22.95 even more expensive. Though the meal was nice it wasn't worth the cost, I would choose to eat elsewhere in future.

Friendly and helpful staff, lovely view from restaurant and breakfast room and bedroom (sea view requested)

The only minor downside is the amount of car parking. We knew that would be the case. It is not a show stopper.

It was a spacious room with a good bathroom. The shower was excellent. Best one so far. We had a great view of Swanage. It was a good walk along the promenade to town. The staff were excellent. Food was very good. The gym had a jacuzzi and a sauna. Loads of workout equipment.

The hotel car park spaces were few, and usually full. Parking on the street competes with the local house owners. Day 1 I found a fairly close space, and the receptionist/porter helped me bring my stuff from car to room. On leaving, I had to leave the car outside the entrance while I loaded up. Fortunately, no one was inconvenienced by this.

A tiny room but all facilities present. Modern and clean. Good dinner and breakfasts (cooked or buffet). Good views across the bay.

Having stayed at the hotel back in late 2016, was disappointed with the overall ambience, in particular with the bedrooms. They are looking a little tired and in need of updating and, for this reason, felt that the cost of £174.00/room was too high.

The food was good quality and value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful which made the experience very comfortable for the younger members of our group.
