Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot enough parking space, but in the location there's nothing they can do about that and the car was safe parked on the road.
The room was well equipped for the single size, comfortable and quiet. Bathroom better appointed than I expected. Staff were helpful and the evening food delicious (I don't breakfast).

United KingdomThe breakfast was very average, and over priced. Staff were very inconstant, some very friendly others not very helpful and unfriendly Stayed for 2 nights and didn’t get refresh on tea and drinks in the room. No tidy up in the room between nights 1 & 2 mean dirty mugs, towels etc just left in the room Felt overall that “money saving” measures were put into the wrong places. Lack of maid service, average breakfast quality
Sea view and the general property appearance was very good

United KingdomA really grim first room so needing to request a change of room. The pool surrounding being painted whilst we were there on two consecutive days therefore a strong sell of paint. The pool opened later than advertised.
When we arrived the family room that we were given was tired, dated and overlooked a grim car park. Our request for two rooms on the same floor wasn’t catered for. The second room was on a different floor and was really good, updated, wonderful view. We then requested a different room for the family. This was catered for quickly, the staff were amazing and we had a lovely room on the same floor as our family member with another wonderful view.. The entire staff team are amazing and a credit to the hotel. From a very disappointing beginning and needing to move our belongings etc after having unpacked, our stay became excellent.

United KingdomThe breakfast was very poor. The fruit was past its best and the cooked breakfast inedible. The hotel only charged for one meal, but all we had was coffee and rock hard muesli.

United KingdomWe found the car parking lacking . When it eased off in the week, the parking spaces were inadequate for many cars and we found enormous cars abutting our car. Half the dishes( all beautifully cooked) and all the specials contained celery, a very common allergen ( second after nuts) thus reducing my choice of dishes considerably. The celery was in the stock , presumably a preparation bought in. There are stock sources available which state on the wrapping no allergens.
The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The views from the breakfast and dining areas were beautiful. There was an easy way straight down to the promenade for lovely walks close to the sea.

United KingdomParking is a nightmare. Hotel has lost some of its character over the years. 1st came many years ago as a kid & have visited a few times since. Not all the changes are necessarily for the better. Breakfast was so so, somehow not satisfying. Main issue - and not the hotel's fault - is lack of staff.
The view from the hotel is exceptional. The fact you can walk down to the beach is a great bonus. The twin room was a good size, very clean and comfy. Very understated decoration, reasonable selection of tea/coffee in the room. Staff were all very lovely and helpful. Evening meal in the restaurant was good. Bar drinks not too expensive for a hotel.

United KingdomVAT added to bill for evening meal made an already fairly expensive meal (chicken supreme) advertised as £22.95 even more expensive. Though the meal was nice it wasn't worth the cost, I would choose to eat elsewhere in future.
Friendly and helpful staff, lovely view from restaurant and breakfast room and bedroom (sea view requested)

AustraliaThe only minor downside is the amount of car parking. We knew that would be the case. It is not a show stopper.
It was a spacious room with a good bathroom. The shower was excellent. Best one so far. We had a great view of Swanage. It was a good walk along the promenade to town. The staff were excellent. Food was very good. The gym had a jacuzzi and a sauna. Loads of workout equipment.

United KingdomThe hotel car park spaces were few, and usually full. Parking on the street competes with the local house owners. Day 1 I found a fairly close space, and the receptionist/porter helped me bring my stuff from car to room. On leaving, I had to leave the car outside the entrance while I loaded up. Fortunately, no one was inconvenienced by this.
A tiny room but all facilities present. Modern and clean. Good dinner and breakfasts (cooked or buffet). Good views across the bay.

United KingdomHaving stayed at the hotel back in late 2016, was disappointed with the overall ambience, in particular with the bedrooms. They are looking a little tired and in need of updating and, for this reason, felt that the cost of £174.00/room was too high.
The food was good quality and value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful which made the experience very comfortable for the younger members of our group.
