We stayed in a standard room which was fine but could do with some TLC. But actually that didn’t matter too much as the whole place has a special magic going on.

The location, relaxed vibe and unashamed quirkiness. It’s a one-off. Recommend breakfast on the terrace if the sun is shining - and walking through the garden to the beach. Staff are lovely and make you feel so welcome. Also, the best hotel book collection I’ve ever seen.

Amazing location , stones throw from the old town. Not too far from beach. Elegant house. Tastefully decorated. Comfortable bed. Amazing shower. Tasty breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful garden. Parking on site .

The weather but that's not the hotel's fault. Also the sauna was out of operation and the lights were not working in the garden at night although we understood they were being repaired.

Honesty bar was empty most times so no atmosphere and we didn't use it.

Nice, quiet homeley. Lovely garden although poor weather prevented us making full use of it. Lovely walk to beach. Excellent breakfast. Wendy, who served us, was very nice and efficient. Loved all the paintings around the hotel and in the room. General decor was good too. Nice comfortable lounge with chess set (set up), library and board games for evenings and rainy days.

Not enough shelf space for clothing if staying a week. The car park was a worry too there were 17 rooms but only about enough room for around 9 or 10 spaces so if you went out in the evening you had to worry about whether you got a space or not. If someone had a 4 x 4 then they took up more than their space.

Our room was clean and well maintained but very little space to put clothing away if staying for a week like we were. You really have to get on well with your partner as I'd describe the room as cosy! The bed was lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and served by a very polite friendly staff member. It was well cooked although the portions were a little measured at times i.e. the fresh fruit starter! Overall we enjoyed our stay.

The car park can be a bit tight if there are a few large cars.

The hotel is in an excellent position in the old village with only a few minutes walk to the sea front. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble - and a very good breakfast is served. The gardens are beautifully kept and very peaceful.

The staff were very sweet and friendly - everyone wished us their congratulations for our wedding, which had just taken place. The room was comfortable, and the garden was beautiful.

There's no air con so when it's hot you need to leave the window open. However I don't imagine air con is required most of the time so not a huge problem.
