Wendy (I hope I have recalled her name correctly) was extremely friendly and welcoming. She was very cheerful and attentive. The property has history and is full of character and charm with a lovely garden. It is really close to Old Shanklin Village and The Chine; so is in a great location. There is a good choice of food at breakfast. Toiletries are supplied and there is tea and coffee readily available. It is more than a B & B; it has an open bar and comfortable lounge and grounds. We were really happy with our accommodation and had a lovely stay.

My wife commented that the cleaning could have been done more assiduously. She surmised it was done by youngsters who cleaned the obvious bits but not everything (like, for example, the cord on the hotel's hairdryer and the Mira shower unit) but this did not detract from our enjoyment of the place.

The Grange is perfectly situated between Shanklin High Street and Old Shanklin - close to several restaurants and other eateries. The Grange is more like a hotel than a B&B with lovely gardens, covered swing seats and a large patio with tables and chairs to enjoy the drinks from the honesty bar. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day. The staff could not have been friendlier or more welcoming - especially the lovely Wendy for whom nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were great; ordering what we wanted from the extensive menu and which set us up for the day ahead,

Not so much a dislike, the Grange we thought needed a tidy up , repaint etc, it didn't detract from the overall experience.

Friendly staff, great location - we used the Grange as a base for our first vacation to the Isle of Wight. Very happy with the choice.

That we couldn't stay longer!!

The Grange is a great place to stay. It's a beautiful old building that is really well kept with lovely period features. The staff, particularly Wendy, are so friendly, and no request is too much trouble. The breakfast was wonderful with a large choice of options. Our room was really comfortable and large with a sea view and looking out over the gorgeous terraced gardens.

Breakfast has a timetable if you say 9am and change your mind it's harder for them to accommodate you even though they do Should be able to have breakfast when you want as things change

It was a very calm & relaxing place to stay. The breakfasts were excellent and the staff were very attentiveI, warm & friendly. We made use of the tea and coffee that was available all day, this was a nice touch. Situated in a very convenient place, and for exploring the whole island. A special thank you to Wendy who is absolutely lovely.

Initial problems with our heating but sorted for us with minimal fuss

Very comfortable, clean and well appointed. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Perfectly located for us to visit family. We'll be back
