TV didn't work properly. Windows a bit tatty. I had to go into my colleague's room and kill 2 big spiders in her window!

Couldn't control the heating in the room, so it was very hot! Even with the window open in November, I was still too warm. Would have been nice to have some control over this. Vegan breakfast was extremely limited even though I had asked in advance if it was provided (and offered to bring my own things but was reassured it would be fine!). What was there was tasty but quite cold.

Location was great. Rooms beautifully decorated and staff very friendly. Good coffee from the bar!

Restaurant not open. Mix up when checking in, the booking had been made for the following night but all sorted as plenty of availability.

On arrival nobody on reception, notice directed us to the cafe … but that was closed !! Husband of a staff member who arrived went and found someone for us ! Lock on room door was problematic, even housekeeping struggled to unlock it for us.

Location ideal for our purpose. ( event at the cricket ground) Breakfast was great, good selection of food, although were not offered a choice of toast !

Just a little grip we booked to have breakfast at 8.30 but before 9 breakfast was being cleared away because of a conference meeting at the hotel we should have been told when we arrived down or the night before that this was going to happen so we had to ask for yogurt etc after we wanted fresh coffee that had been cleared away and got made instant.

The Room was spacious clean and comfortable the shower was great. The hotel is across the road from the train station and close to the Brewhouse theatre.

There was nothing to dislike.

My friend and I came to stay one night leisure. We absolutely loved the hotel , so spacious bright and lovely refurbished. Lovely friendly Receptionist. Sweet girl. Our Mattock superior room gorgeous bright and cheerful. Beautifully decorated and the bathroom amazing. So clean and fresh. Tea and coffee facilities fresh ground coffee a super added touch. The garden we loved and the coloured positive huge Frog!! The cooked breakfast delicious too. We wanted to stay longer. We enjoyed looking at the before and after photographs too of the Great Western Hotel. Wow on the transformation. Couldn't believe opposite train station either when we got off our train. Fantastic.taxi was easy to book too just short distance to town for our Abba tribute night in town. We want to come back.

Clean & tidy property right outside railway station, large comfy bed with ground coffee (not instant) in your room, with rainfall shower. Great full English breakfast and fresh croissants .. Staff were really helpful, and gave fresh milk available - if only all hotels were like this

there is a problem with plumbing in the bathrooms where it is difficult to get cold water from the tap. Runs hot for so long that I gave up. Staff were very helpful in providing cold bottles of tap water to mitigate.

Breakfast was fine but limited choice of cereals. Staff were most helpful throughout.
