How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Squeaky sign outside our window- not good in windy weather and needs to be sorted! Only one tea bag provided in room but good coffee- I am sure we could have had more had we asked!
Convenient in chilterns for us Old Inn but rooms clean and newly decorated Breakfast - continental good

I was probably expecting cooked breakfast for £120, which is only thing I would mark a little bit down for.
Well done for being in the state you were after all the flood craziness. Must have been hard going lately.

Used the Greyhound Inn as a one night stopover. Very easy to find and parking is provided. The room was very comfortable and the bed extremely comfortable. Had a good dinner downstairs and breakfast was continental buffet. Every staff member we spoke to was helpful and very friendly.

No hairdryer in room but this was sorted when asked. Room was small but adequate for 1 night.
Conveniently located for Heathrow airport. There was a good pub and the room was reasonably priced with free parking.

Lovely traditional old style pub, very welcoming,friendly and helpful staff. Nice food, only down side, drinks were massivly overpriced.. £14.20 for double G&T..!

Could do with a bit more water pressure in the shower but a minor point.
Really enjoyable short business overnight stay, excellent proper pub food served by the new, really hard working landlord. Lovely to meet such a keen, determined fella !

Our room felt a little cramped. Getting in the bath / shower was an odd experience due to a low ceiling and there wasn't much pressure in the shower.
Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. English breakfast was well presented, hot and delicious.

Dinner was fine, reasonable home cooked food. Nothing fancy, but good value the rooms are noisy, but when the building is on a roundabout, this is to be expected. location is great for visiting surrounding areas, such as Gerrards X, Beaconsfield, Amersham etc. Convenient for M40, M25 and M4.
Location was perfect for my needs. Breakfast was very good.

The only down side was the rooms at night and in the morning was very cold no heating.

This place could easily be an 8+ but let down by simple things. The shower was terrible, pretty much zero water pressure, not acceptable when paying over 100 a night. The TV barely worked, issues with the sound so could only hear random channels. So had to stick with netflix on laptop. Tried to book an extra night but no response to email in over a day. Music so loud downstairs (until midnight saturday) the room actually shook. One time the staff tried to enter the room even with the 'please do not disturb' sign.

The shower was really weak and rubbish
The room was great, coffee machine was a nice touch and a glass bottle of water. The staff were all friendly. The food was first class.

Room was nice and clean, but a bit tired in places. Just under a new manager so still a few fixtures & fittings to tidy up. Watch out for low beams, you can't do anything about it, it's a olde pub.
Lovely olde pub with parking. Location suited exactly where I wanted to be. Right on the edge of the town, easy walk to shops. Free continental breakfast and £7.50 extra for a full English both were good as were the evening meals.
