How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I would upgrade to a better room, as my room had 2 single beds with thin mattresses. Probably good for children but I had trouble sleeping.

Bar area was closed and reception and took along while to get someone to answer a phone! Had to use the emergency number on the door to the rooms to get someone to book me in and get a key for my room!
It was extremely clean and beds were comfortable and the breakfast was great and would recommend people to stay here!

Music late at night s was loud ! Room was too close to an external door that kept banging loudly as people used it! room was cold at night! Water boiling hot in sink but only tepid in shower.

Previous stay in March was better. The rooms could do with a refurb, especially the baths all showing signs of wear. Really disappointed with continental breakfast which was totally over priced. No proper coffee just nescafe sachets and MARGERINE no butter :( !! Wouldn't bother again. Bar meal OK but service slow and disappointed with some of the food. A pity it could be so much better...
Convenient location. Good to have a bar restaurant on hand. Rooms warm. Handy for us dog parents.

Breakfast was lukewarm, wholemeal toast was dry and inedible, poached eggs were basically boiled…and overall expensive - £14 for poached eggs on toast and fried eggs either beans and hash browns.

Would have preferred a walk in shower and the water system was rather noisy with the hot water a bit intermittent. TV was rather small with limited channels available but overall quite satisfactory for a short break..
Quiet location Easy parking on site. Friendly welcome. Room was comfortable and spacious. Although the usual breakfast wasn't able to be provided due to kitchen refurbishment we were provided with a complimentary 'continental ' type breakfast that was quite adequate.

There was a function in the room below us on Saturday, we felt the drums and bass through the floor! It did stop after 11pm though so managed some shut-eye.

It seemed that there was a water tank or boiler or something in every room so whenever someone flushed the loo you heard the boiler/tank go off for a minute or so. However they told us they are renovating next week so maybe that system will be changed. Good stay overall.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Really nice pub menu and an extensive Indian menu which was all delicious! Rooms were big and comfortable.

There wasn't any thing that i didnt like

Only 3 tea bags ! And the bath had some mold and there was no light for the mirror although the hairdryer was there, dark corner

Bed was comfy. Room was very clean and spacious. Check in easy and straight forward. Staff were friendly and always happy to help. The surrounding area was peaceful and quiet. Good parking area and nice outside seating area. Overall a lovely place to stay will be happy to book again.

Outside car park needed tidying up as there was broken glass near the entry and a few empty bottles and cans in the hedges. Other than that it was great.
Trevor was very welcoming and pleasant. Dev the Chef is very accommodating and willing to talk through all options. Great value for money and we will use it again.

Hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes while in the shower/bath - rather than on the loo seat. An additional chair would have been nice so we didn’t have to sit on the beds
