How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The owner's of this Hotel are extremely charming making you feel most welcomed on arrival. Lovely on-suite room provided and with out a doubt the best Breakfast I've had in years. The hotel is conveniently located near the seafront close to local Tran and Bus services. This is now my first choice of hotel in Blackpool. A big thank you too the owner's at Highfield, best wishes 😁

Well located, a short distance away from the town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. A shame there was no food & drink in the evening. Parking was first come-first served on each nearby street, but found a space two streets away, so quite pleased, Breakfast was tremendous, and very tasty. Really enjoyed the stay, especially as it was quiet at night.

although a little dated, the rooms were very spacious and exceptionally clean. the owners were super friendly, polite and extremely helpful. the breakfast was lovely and nothing was a problem for them to do for you. so easy having the tram top a mear 30 second from the hotel and right next to the beach also. this is our second time coming here. the first time was 9 years ago. and we had the best experience we did 9 years ago this time too. wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

Decoration/carpets outdated however expected for the price.
The location was a bit further away from the main attractions than I thought but there was plenty of public transport. The breakfast was lovely and made to order. Also a good variety of food and drinks. Good WiFi signal. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean towels/ tea and coffee replenished daily.

Everything was great. Nothing I didn’t like.
The staff make this hotel!! they’re exceptional! couldn’t do enough for me and my family. Helped with bags when we arrived and when we left. Kept my sons insulin in the fridge for me all weekend and the breakfast was brilliant. No grease to be seen! Thankyou so much. We’ll definitely be back.

The room was nice and clean and big enough for us.
The place was amazing, the breakfast was good, I can’t fault it, the owners were so polite and helpful and helped with the bags as I had two little ones with me.

Nowt, not anything I could c needed improved upon? Best value accommodation i have stayed in blackpool over many visits,except 1 other which was good but not quite as good as Highfield???
Breakfast was excellent, location was fine not close to town, but knew that and very close 2 bus and tram stop.

I can't fault anything.
The family room was a lovely size, had everything we needed and the bathroom was brand new. The hosts were really welcoming and friendly. The B&B is right next to a tram stop. The breakfast was superb, freshly cooked to order. We managed to find an on street parking spot nearby. I would definitely stay again.

3 things : 1. found some cobwebs on back of bathroom door 2. no towels change for a stay mon-fri not sure about the bedding as Monday and Tuesday were really hot and sweaty days 3. bed bit springy but nothing major

My room and en-suite were spotless. The staff couldn't do enough for you, the hotel was quiet and had everything I needed for my short stay. 2 minute walk from the prom and tram stop.

There was nothing that I didn't like.
