Lots of renovations going on which are needed but mean that the cleanliness isn’t great and the inside space is cluttered. Mattress was uncomfortable so we didn’t sleep very well.

The hotel was being rennovated when we stayed so the television didn't get any reception and when it rained, it gathered in the tarpaulin on the roof then smashed down onto the landing outside our windows which woke us up a few times in the night. The beds are really really squeeky so when you rolled over you woke up the person next to you.

Hotel is right in the centre of town so super handy when wondering around. Breakfast was huge and a great variety to choose from. Also had a free car park which was super helpful.

    The building works were noisy

The location was superb and couldn’t be closer to the centre of town. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. The beds were very comfortable and the curtains blocked out the light completely which was great. Fab allowing my dog too.

Some repairs needed to be made toilet seat was cracked but this is reflected fairly in the price and only a minor issue.

The staff were friendly and the service was amazing. We particularly liked Tom who was working the bar and nothing was too much trouble.

I felt the price of £138 was vastly overpriced- no facilities, building works ongoing and a pleasant but merely basic room.

Interesting old building but unfortunately undergoing renovations and building works. I was the only guest and aside from the lady who greeted me, there were no staff and so there was no reception or evening meal available. The room was clean and comfortable but had tiles off the floor in the bathroom and the shower doors would not close.

    It was all fine.

Sheila and Katie were welcoming and friendly from the time when I arrived. I had a very good meal on the Friday night in the Inn (having pre-booked this), and good breakfasts. My room was comfortable and well-furnished, and very quiet despite being in a central location in Hay. I slept well and enjoyed exploring Hay, which is a very attractive town and a book-lovers' paradise.
